If your plan is a drone drop, make plans for your court date, too. Thanks to our partners for securing this conviction; prohibited substances remain the greatest disruption to the safety and security of our operations. https://lnkd.in/gFZk7cYk

Recently, the Ohio Mail Processing Center celebrated a major milestone: 500,000 scanned mail pieces. The OMPC is vital to keeping our institutions safe by eliminating one of the most common vehicles of prohibited substances coming into our prisons: paper. Thank you to the staff at the OMPC for what you do to help keep our facilities safe.

This conveyance attempt really missed the mark… If you attempt to bring prohibited substances into our facilities, no matter the method, you will be caught. This attempt was unique, but our staff still intercepted it before it could do any damage. Our staff are our greatest resource in our fight to stop prohibited substances from coming into our prisons. These attempts fail because our people don’t.

Please join us in celebrating Officer Brittany Booker (London Correctional Institution) on being named DRC’s 2026 Ronald C. Marshall Correction Officer of the Year! Brittany has served DRC for over 10 years and is currently working as a front entry officer at LoCI. Brittany is frequently praised for having a “natural gift” for turning stressful situations into comfortable, welcoming encounters. As a front entry officer, she often sets a positive tone for both staff and visitors entering the facility. Congratulations, Brittany!

One of our final Employee Week photo dumps before we begin celebrating our Officers of the Year. As the team behind this page, we've been collecting these pictures over the last few days and can't help but reflect on our staff. Corrections is more than a job or even a career; it's a calling. It's a calling that asks our staff to guide and support those under our care and, in doing so, change the future of safety for our state and communities. The work you do is difficult and unseen, but we know you show up every day with heart. You work hard to ensure the safety of your team and the public while striving to change people who may not be ready for change. Ohio is stronger because of you, and our correctional system is the best in the country because of your dedication. So to the 11,000 people in our team: thank you. Thank you for answering this call and making us proud to serve alongside you at DRC.
