It’s been amazing to watch all of our Indigenous youth participate in the NHL First Shift program from getting suited up in new gear and now taking on new skills on the ice! OneHoop/Flowing River Capital and Innovation Federal Credit Union have jointly sponsored the National Hockey League (NHL) First Shift Program in partnership with Hockey Regina Inc, Ranch Ehrlo Society Sport Venture, Bauer Hockey, StratLab Marketing, and the Regina Pats Hockey Club. The NHL First Shift Program offers youth ages 6-10 with a full set of Bauer equipment from head to toe, 6 weeks of on ice training, expert equipment fitting and Hockey Canada Insurance. This particular initiative focused on supporting 46 Indigenous youth from Regina. “We’re honored to support NHL First Shift because it embodies our values of accessibility, inclusion, and community building,” added Thomas Benjoe , Partner at OneHoop. “Every child deserves the opportunity to experience the transformative power of sport, regardless of their background or financial circumstances. We are happy to remove some of those barriers that our young people sometimes face so that they can enjoy being kids and fall in love with hockey.”
