About us

Paradigm’s roots extend back to the early 1970s when Candace King Weir founded an institutional research boutique specializing in small-cap equities. Recognizing that small caps presented unique opportunities to capitalize on inefficiencies and valuation discrepancies, Paradigm Capital Management was established in the early 1990s. Today, we maintain our resolute belief in the outsize return potential of small caps. We continuously refine our research approach, while reaffirming key tenets of our investment process. For instance, we have learned first-hand that constant interaction with and evaluation of a company’s management and competitive positioning can drive superior investment results. Updates

  • As Women’s History Month comes to a close, we reflect on Hetty Green, also known in the late 1800s as the “Queen of Wall Street”. Hetty is iconically remembered for her level-headedness during the Panic of 1907, where her willingness to lend amid turmoil helped to stabilize financiers in crisis. We at Paradigm believe Hetty’s disciplined approach to investing remains as relevant as ever over a century later and have confidence that thorough due diligence and independent research provide the conviction needed to navigate a turbulent environment.

  • As we evaluate market dynamics in early 2026, investors are increasingly debating the sustainability of market strength. A narrow set of large-cap growth leaders continue to drive benchmarks to new all-time highs. Meanwhile, mixed economic datapoints and a volatile geopolitical landscape offer contradictory signals versus equity market buoyancy. For the investment team at Paradigm Capital Management, this contrast underscores the importance of active management, and a fundamentals-driven investment approach. We at Paradigm continue to believe that our disciplined investment process and our emphasis on bottom-up stock picking remain cornerstones for long-term investing in an ever-turbulent environment.

  • “Will small stocks stink forever?” – we certainly hope not! As market concentration sits at all-time highs and flows continue to follow the momentum of high-flyers, it is easy for small-cap companies to be overlooked. Small-cap securities continue to trade at a significant discount to their larger counterparts, creating significant opportunities for active management. At Paradigm, we remain disciplined in our investment philosophy and believe that using first-hand research to identify undervalued and underfollowed companies will continue to offer significant, long-term appreciation across market cycles. https://lnkd.in/gySRD65m
