We’re proud to share that Methodist Hospital has earned a 2025 NRC Health Excellence in Patient Experience Award—one of just three large hospitals nationwide to receive this honor. This recognition belongs to our people. It reflects a culture rooted in listening, compassion, and showing up for patients and families with intention and heart. Every role, every interaction, every moment of care matters—and our colleagues bring that commitment to life each day. The trust our community places in us is a privilege we never take for granted. Together, we continue to raise the bar for patient-centered care and create a place where caregivers are supported, valued, and inspired to do their best work. We’re grateful to be part of a team that leads with care—and always puts people first.

At Methodist Hospital, Abraham Westlund is known for drawing blood—and for lifting spirits. Between patient care, he plays piano and sings, sharing moments of joy with colleagues and patients alike. Recently, Abraham took his talents to a bigger stage: halftime at a Minnesota Vikings game. Alongside colleagues from our cancer care program, he performed an original song while the team honored children who’ve faced cancer. “I’m just blown away by the power of music and healing,” Abraham said. “It brings everybody together in so many ways. I’m blessed to get to honor patients and what they’re going through; it’s phenomenal.” The Vikings invited Abraham to perform after seeing a Fox 9 story about the impact his work and music have on colleagues and patients. And while the cheers from fans and compliments from players were unforgettable, Abraham says the highlight was meeting the kids honored during the ceremony. “People who go through these challenges are so strong,” he said. “Those kids have so much hope, and I’m grateful that I could honor that hope with music.” Abraham’s music reflects what it means to be a partner for good—bringing compassion, hope, and healing to every moment, and inspiring the culture of care we live every day at HealthPartners.

Partnership is part of our DNA — it shapes how we care, collaborate and create healthier communities. This fall, that spirit was on full display as colleagues from across HealthPartners and Park Nicollet volunteered more than 245 hours with Habitat for Humanity at The Heights in St. Paul. They taped, painted, repaired walls, installed drywall and more, all to help create stable, affordable homes for families. We know that 80% of health happens outside the walls of our clinics and hospitals, and it all begins with having a place to call home.
