𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗶𝗴 𝟱𝟱𝟳 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗲𝘄𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗨.𝗦. 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗼𝘂𝗴 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗴𝘂𝗺! We were honored for the invitation from Mewbourne Oil Company to welcome U.S. Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum to Patterson-UTI Rig 557 in the Permian Basin last week. The visit was a great opportunity to showcase our partnership with Mewbourne, along with the people, technology, and operational excellence that drive American oil and gas production. Most importantly, it highlighted the hard work and dedication of our crews in the field who safely and efficiently drive the operation around the clock. Thank you to Mewbourne for the opportunity to be a part of the visit, and we also appreciate Secretary Burgum for meeting with our team and learning more about the work being done in one of the world’s most productive energy regions. #PermianBasin #AmericanEnergy #PerformanceDrilling #OilAndGas #EnergyIndustry #OperationalExcellence

  • We are closing National Distracted Driving Awareness Month with our fourth and final principle: 𝗘liminate Distractions. National Highway Transportation Safety Administration defines driver distraction as anything that takes your eyes off the road, hands off the wheel, or mind off driving. When we look at our 2025 records, driver distraction was a risk multiplier in many of our serious incidents where awareness was already a factor. National road safety research is consistent with this finding – distraction is rarely the only cause of a crash, but it consistently reduces the amount of time a driver has to respond. • We are continuing National Distracted Driving Awareness Month with the third principle in our 𝗦.𝗔.𝗙.𝗘. framework – 𝗙it to Drive. Being fit to drive is a personal commitment to showing up physically and mentally prepared every time you get behind the wheel. Illness, medication, stress and fatigue can all affect your readiness in ways that are not always obvious. Unfortunately, the outcome is the same: you will not be able to react as quickly when it counts. The highest risk often exists during the transition between the jobsite and home. Whether in a work truck, a crew van or your personal vehicle, driving to work or heading home without being fully fit can have life changing consequences for you and others on the road. • We are continuing National Distracted Driving Awareness Month with the second principle in our 𝗦.𝗔.𝗙.𝗘. 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 – 𝗔wareness. When we analyzed our 2025 motor vehicle incident data, Awareness was identified as a contributing factor in almost 90% of the serious incidents – a finding that is consistent with national road safety research and one we take seriously. Our workforce drives over 68 million miles a year, and every mile of that exposure carries real risk – and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration data provides us with the picture of what that risk looks like nationally. Speeding alone accounts for nearly 1 in 3 traffic fatalities (*NHTSA Data) – and 88% of those happen on non-interstate roads – the exact type of rural lease roads, county roads and access routes our teams drive every day. *𝘉𝘢𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘰𝘯 2025 𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘢. Behind these statistics is often a moment where a driver ran out of time to react. Awareness is what buys that time back. It is the practice of reading the environment in real time so that when conditions change, you have the space to respond safely. Watch the full video here: https://lnkd.in/gZB-qy42 Look out for next week’s installment: Fit to Drive. Drive Safe • Arrive Safe

  • We are kicking off National Distracted Driving Awareness Month with the first principle in our DriveSafe™ 𝗦.𝗔.𝗙.𝗘. framework: 𝗦eatbelts. When we looked at our 2025 incident data, one finding stood out. Serious motor vehicle incidents rarely had a single cause. In most cases, multiple factors came together at the same time, including driving speed, the road surface, and the weather and environment around the vehicle. Understanding these causes helps explain what seatbelts are actually built to do. A seatbelt cannot prevent a crash. What it does is give you the best possible chance of surviving one. In a serious collision, the forces involved can be beyond what the human body can handle on its own. That is when a seatbelt can be the difference between walking away and not walking away at all. This is why the 𝗦eatbelt principle is the foundation of everything else, not because it changes what happens on the road, but because it is the one protection that is always within your control on every trip, before the vehicle ever moves. I’ve given several interviews over the last few weeks on whether U.S. onshore drilling activity is reacting to higher oil prices.  My previous responses were that we are still seeing relatively steady activity, as our customers need more certainty around future oil prices, not just today’s oil price. But last week, I gave a different answer.  As the conflict unfortunately continues and there are more reports of infrastructure damage in the region, we are seeing the oil futures strip move up for December contracts.  If year-end futures remain above $70, there is an increasing possibility of higher U.S. onshore drilling and completion activity later this year. The global markets may be looking for relief from strained energy supplies, and the U.S. oil and gas industry has the ability to respond.  Link to full Reuters article by Georgina McCartney in the comment section Chart courtesy of CME Group Patterson-UTI
