As you get underway with your social channel strategy this year, questions linger in the wake of 2025. With the will-they-won’t-they TikTok ban giving all marketers whiplash and X’s continued reputational downward spiral, the social landscape continues to look uncertain, says MSL (Global)'s Jo Bromilow. https://lnkd.in/eNjM2x3W

My latest blog comes from the World Economic Forum in Switzerland, surrounded by the snowy slopes of #Davos. Whatever else happened, this week proved how crucial #PR and #corporateaffairs are to the machinations of the near 1,000 company CEOs and chairs and 65 world leaders in attendance https://lnkd.in/gWugFYfS PRWeek #leadership #foreignpolicy #communication

I’ve been at the World Economic Forum in Davos this week. My first time. And honestly, the question I kept asking myself was: is it always like this? Because it was intense. If you’re in the UK, imagine Labour Party Conference but with billionaires. What became very clear, very quickly, is that the real power of Davos is convening very senior people. Business and political leaders massively value what they can get done when everyone is in one small town for a few days. The density of decision-makers matters. The conversations move faster. Things unlock. Talking to seasoned Davos veterans, you hear that not so long ago there was a feeling the conference had lost relevance. That it had become performative or disconnected from the real world. That perception feels completely overturned this year. With global geopolitical tensions front and centre and the US President in town, the focus and seriousness of the discussions showed exactly why Davos still matters. The space for connection felt needed - right place, right time. A couple of other observations. If Cannes is for creatives and marketers, Davos is for corporate affairs. The amount of work being shifted by corporate affairs leaders, the quality of comms-led discussions, and the sheer networking density make it a genuinely powerful moment for people in our industry. Even without top-tier passes, there is real access and real engagement. And finally, it reinforced the value of showing up with a clear point of view. It was great to see Burson’s Reputation Economy Report landing so strongly too. When we connected that to the role of internal company culture in building reputation, particularly in our roundtables with PRWeek and Axios, the conversation really came alive. A great week - if you're in corporate affairs it's worth the time and investment with a solid engagement plan in place of course. Also absolute kudos to Team Burson for all the support and help this week Corey duBrowa Randa Stephan Greg Curchod Vaneska Storm-Mollard
