Last week, Joshua Gorfain represented Quartus Engineering at the SIMULIA Americas Users Conference, where he demonstrated how we leverage SIMULIA’s advanced simulation environment to solve some of the most complex engineering challenges. His presentation focused on the simulation‑driven design of a composite flywheel exceeding 35,000 RPM, showcasing how Abaqus FEA, Tosca optimization, and rotordynamic analysis work together to predict and avoid resonance issues long before physical testing. To review Josh’s presentation and see how we apply SIMULIA tools to perform analysis on high‑performance systems, visit: https://lnkd.in/gpNRnKGX #Simulia #SimuliaAmericasUsersConference #SimuliaUser #EngineeringAnalysis #DesignAnalysis #Rotordynamic #RotordynamicAnalysis

Proud to announce that Joshua Gorfain will be representing Quartus Engineering at the SIMULIA Americas Users Conference on May 14 at 4:40 PM, presenting how Quartus is helping solve real-world engineering problems using SIMULIA tools. The presentation will highlight the simulation-driven design analysis of a high-speed composite flywheel operating above 35,000 RPM using Abaqus FEA, Tosca optimization, and rotordynamic analysis to identify and mitigate resonance risks before physical testing. If you are attending the conference and have a challenging engineering problem involving advanced simulation, be sure to connect with Josh at the show to learn how we can solve your complex problems. #SIMULIA #Abaqus #Engineering #FEA #Rotordynamics #DigitalEngineering #SimuliaAmericasUsersConference #Simulation

We’re proud to share that Tim Voss, from our team at Quartus Engineering, presented this week at SMST 2026 in La Jolla, CA. Quartus with Dr. Aaron Stebner delivered an in‑depth technical talk his work implementing a sophisticated shape memory alloy (SMA) material model as an Abaqus UMAT, which is capturing complex behaviors such as: • Coupled transformation‑plasticity • Anisotropic constitutive responses • Large temperature‑dependent effects • Superelastic tension‑compression asymmetry • Transformation initiation, kinetics, and saturation Tim demonstrated how this advanced formulation provides improved predictive capabilities for challenging engineering scenarios including low‑temperature compression, fatigue, and stress‑ratcheting. Read more about this presentation: https://lnkd.in/gbAu_S3b A big congratulations to Tim for representing Quartus Engineering and showcasing our commitment to pushing the boundaries of high‑fidelity material modeling. #SMST2026 #QuartusEngineering #ShapeMemoryAlloys #FiniteElementModeling #MedicalEngineering #EngineeringInnovation #MedTech

What if you could better predict shape memory device behavior before building and testing physical prototypes? That’s exactly what we’re discussing at the SMST Conference. Quartus Engineering is presenting a new Shape Memory Alloy UMAT model for SIMULIA Abaqus that helps engineers simulate complex SMA behavior with greater accuracy—including transformation plasticity, multiaxial loading, stress ratcheting, and thermal-mechanical interactions. For teams developing medical devices and other SMA applications, this means fewer surprises during testing—and more confidence earlier in development. If you’ll be at SMST in La Jolla, let’s connect. Tim Voss and Ryan Buesseler will be there to answer questions today. #SMST2026 #ShapeMemoryAlloys #Simulation #MedicalDeviceEngineering #Abaqus #EngineeringDesign #QuartusEngineering #Wearehiring

We were excited to see Artemis II complete its journey and return safely especially here in San Diego, where the recovery unfolded close to home. 🏖️ At Quartus Engineering, we’re proud to have contributed to the Orion program through our work on the European Service Module (ESM) Structural Test Article for NASA’s Engineering and Safety Center. During NASA vibration testing, the structure exhibited complex nonlinear behavior beyond initial FEA predictions. Our team performed an independent model correlation, analyzing raw vibration data, generating frequency response functions, and identifying the key drivers of these nonlinear responses. By refining the finite element model and focusing on key joints influencing the behavior, we developed correlated models that more accurately reflect real-world performance helping improve confidence in structural predictions and support safer mission outcomes. 🌍👩🚀👨🚀 It’s incredible to see that work play a role in a mission that pushes human exploration forward and returns safely right here in our backyard. 🚀 #ArtemisII #ArtemisIII #NASA #Aerospace #Moon #Earth #Engineering #AerospaceEngineering #VibrationTesting #Analysis
