Updates

  • A huge thank you to our R&M volunteers who spent last Wednesday afternoon helping clean up our adopted stretch of the Seward Highway as part of the Anchorage Chamber Citywide Cleanup effort. The team collected a trailer full of trash between O’Malley and Huffman, making a visible impact along one of Anchorage’s busiest corridors. Community stewardship is an important part of who we are as an Alaska-based, employee-owned company and we’re grateful to everyone who took time to participate in this effort.

  • Anchorage is one step closer to a major new trail connection. The AMATS Downtown Trail Connector project marks a significant investment in Anchorage’s non-motorized transportation network by creating a much needed connection between two of the city’s most popular trail systems. R&M is happy to be part of the Kinney Engineering team supporting this important project. As part of the Kinney team, R&M is providing geotechnical engineering, surveying, environmental, planning and public involvement services to help advance the project from concept to construction. This connection will improve accessibility, safety and mobility for pedestrians and cyclists while enhancing connectivity throughout downtown Anchorage. We value the opportunity to collaborate with Kinney Engineering on infrastructure projects that create long-term benefits for Alaska communities. • A major milestone for Alaska’s cruise industry is taking shape in Seward. R&M is serving as the owner’s representative for the $110 million Seward Cruise Ship Terminal Replacement project. The project includes replacing the aging dock and terminal with new floating docks, transfer spans, mooring dolphins, pile driving and dredging work, and a new 65,000-square-foot terminal building designed to support the next generation of cruise travel in Alaska. As part of our role, R&M is providing comprehensive quality assurance services throughout construction, including daily observations, special inspections, materials testing acceptance, and verification of contractor quality control efforts. Our team is helping ensure this important waterfront investment is built to serve Alaska communities and visitors for decades to come. The project is featured in the latest issue of Alaska Business.
