  • 📍 Gaza Protecting patients means protecting the people who care for them.  Working in a context marked by destruction, temporary repairs, and a shortage of basic hygiene supplies is not easy.  Yet every day, medical teams at our local partner Al Awda Health and Community Association continue caring for patients who depend on them. Staff recently took part in a training program organized by Relief International, with the support of the EU in Emergencies, about practical ways to prevent and control infections.   During the sessions, staff worked through essential measures including: 👉🏽 hand hygiene  👉🏽 correct use of protective equipment  👉🏽 safe waste management  👉🏽 environmental cleaning  👉🏽 infection prevention procedures for inside wards  Practices like this support safer conditions for both patients and health workers. Although simple, they are critical for communities living through one of the world’s worst crises. #Gaza

  • 📍 Türkiye  We believe that #rehabilitation can be a bridge to greater independence and renewed possibility. With support from EU in Emergencies, we are providing safe and inclusive services for people facing the largest barriers in #Türkiye — including people injured by war and the 2023 earthquakes, as well as children and older people with disabilities. Together with local partners, we are helping people to regain movement, rebuild confidence, and take part in their daily lives and communities more fully. Thank you EU in Emergencies for this critical support. *The voiceover used in this video is AI generated. #DisabilityInclusion #InclusiveHealth #HumanitarianAid

  • 📍Syria Without coordinated action from the international community, Syrians face a very real public health crisis.  ‼️ Launched today, our new report demonstrates that as millions return home, the country's health infrastructure — already fractured by 14 years of war — is coming under mounting pressure. According to one of our findings, 78% of returnees in rural Deir-ez-Zor reported that healthcare was unavailable. 🕊️ This afternoon Rachel Sider, Advocacy and Communications Lead for Relief International in Syria, spoke with FRANCE 24 about what action is needed to reduce spiraling needs. • 📢 As officials gather in #Brussels today, Syrian authorities and the European Union must address Syria’s looming health crisis. Our message is clear: chart a roadmap for recovery that centers the health of all Syrians.   ❤️🩹 As millions return home — many living with untreated injuries, chronic disease, and trauma, the international community's sustained action and investment is critical.   📈 In a new report launched today, we outline the current state of care and what is needed to repair the country’s fractured health system. 👉🏽 Read more here: https://lnkd.in/esGqAGmZ   #Syria

  • 📍 Gaza     For many families living in informal camps, accessing food remains a daily concern after years of displacement and little opportunity to work.     Together with READ Foundation UK, we are helping families to cope with some of these pressures — distributing food parcels when needs are especially high.     With this support, parents can focus more on the important work of caring for their children and maintaining stabilizing routines during ongoing hardship.     This is part of our wider effort helping communities in #Gaza to navigate daily challenges. In a situation where so much is uncertain, even a simple food parcel can bring a welcome moment of stability and reassurance.

  • 📍 South Sudan  With support from the #SouthSudanHumanitarianFund, we are delivering life-saving health, nutrition, and WASH services in South Sudan.  These services will support refugees, returnees, and host communities in Renk and Maban who are facing critical health challenges and a lack of infrastructure.  As the humanitarian situation continues to worsen, this funding will enable us to reach those most in need. • 📍 Türkiye    Ibrahim tragically lost his leg in an airstrike during the Syrian war. In that moment, he lost all hope.    💔 He says it broke his heart that he couldn’t carry his young daughter, who was still a baby at that time. “She was crawling like a baby, and I felt like I was crawling too,” he remembers.    With the support of Relief International and the National Syrian Project for Prosthetic Limbs, Ibrahim had a prosthetic fitted and took part in a comprehensive rehabilitation program.     🕊️ Two years later, Ibrahim fulfilled his dream of walking again. Today he has returned to his home in Syria, and no longer has to depend on others.    Thank you EU in Emergencies for making this work possible - together with are supporting thousands of people living with disabilities to regain their independence. #Türkiye #Syria #DisabilityInclusion

  • Bringing Healthcare Home in Deir-ez-Zor, Syria Across hard-to-reach parts of Deir-ez-Zor, Relief International’s mobile clinic provides primary healthcare to residents affected by over a decade of conflict and displacement. Thanks to the support of EU in Emergencies, rural communities have gained access to critical services such as chronic disease management, maternal healthcare, child nutrition screening, the provision of essential medicines, and follow-up care. A team of doctors, pharmacists, nurses, midwives, and nutrition specialists travel around the region meeting communities where they are. Over 4,600 free consultations have helped to reduce financial and logistical barriers to addressing urgent healthcare needs in the absence of a strong healthcare system. #EUHumanitarianAid #EUSolidarity #humanitarianaid #healthcare #Syria #ReliefInternational #HealthServices
