I’ve spoken with enough of them to understand the anxiety they feel: -entry level jobs are more scarce than ever: blame AI. -my rent is too darn high and I’ll never be able to buy my own home: blame gov’t. -even if I do get a job in my field, it doesn’t pay enough for me to live + pay my college debt: blame the entire system. My message to this generation coming up: 💥Stick with it! Embrace AI and tool yourself up to be a leader in whatever workplace you choose. Be patient but also be prepared to grind it out each day. There are no shortcuts. “They” can’t steal your dreams. Unless you let them!!! 🇺🇸 This is America after all. Rise up!

Advice to candidates: is this ur DREAM ROLE? Gut check: scale 1 to 10, how does it fit your mission, passion, career aspirations? If a 10, do this 👇 💥 Completely take off the table anything that sniffs of a hedging mindset (I may not be able to be in office 5x / week).....that just sounds like a type that's not ready to go all-in. 💥 Negotiate the right things: if there's deferred comp (bonus or equity upside), carefully decide what's most important to you and what compensation blend best aligns you with the leadership team / shareholders. 💥 Prepare for the interviews like your life depends on it! (b/c it does!) NEVER show up unprepared. And in fact, go way above expectations. Deep dive all the leadership team. Listen to podcasts they've been on. Shop their properties. Have something to say about areas of improvement, and areas where they're already nailing it. 💥 Have a GREAT answer for: how will you contribute to our culture and our financial performance. Obv, if this is a dream job for you, the culture and economic opportunity really resonate with you. Be prepared to speak to that, with eloquence! Good luck out there!

Sorry, I don't agree chasing material wealth is worth sacrificing your health & relationships. (& doesn't mention Faith life, so obv that wasn't on the radar either....) I'm reacting to this VERY hot take in The Wall Street Journal. And overall I'm proud of this young man--he's truly a contrarian. I agree too few are unwilling to push it to the limits to achieve greatness. BUT....I can't agree with the flawed mental model that: the ends (financial wealth and "financial freedom") justify the means (destroying your body and shunning all relationships--friends, family, even God). After all, "Man shall not live on bread alone." (Matthew 4:4) Read more below from the author's LI post, paraphrasing the article. 💡 My overall take: we need an *integrated* life vs. work-life balance. You need to harmonize faith, family, friendships, fitness with your pursuit of greatness. This--in my experience--is the only way to achieve sustainable success--and a joyful, fulfilling life. ❓ What do you think? I ❤️ Mondays! If you've got a "Case of the Mondays" you need to question everything about your career and life. My tips for crushing Mondays: 💥 Fill your cup on the weekend. Spent time being with your family, working on your faith, doing something for your fitness. Faith, family, fitness--the three F's! 💥 Get some of the admin stuff off your plate over the weekend so you're not bogged down first thing Monday with a bunch of low value-add activities. 💥 Get a general plan in place for how you will attack the week. Then, verify it on Monday morning. 💥 No alcohol on Sundays. It impairs your mental clarity and you need to be sharp. It just makes you sluggish. 💥 #1: check your #mission. What higher calling are you pursuing with your work. (if you don't have one, again--question everything!) Let's get after it my friends! What blessings we have--to pursue creative work....that we have wonderful God-given talents to do great things....to serve and empower others!
