On 1/15, Rutgers Cancer Institute and RWJBarnabas Health hosted a Gynecologic Oncology CME Dinner Event at the Jack & Sheryl Morris Cancer Center. With January marking Cervical Cancer Awareness Month, the timing of this program couldn’t have been more meaningful. Providers from across the state joined us for an evening of education, discussion, and shared commitment to advancing gynecologic cancer care. I'm truly honored to be a part of #BridgingTheGaps in Brain Mets OncLive. This disease state is unfortunately underrepresented in clinical trials, despite its significance, with approximately 200,000 cases diagnosed annually in the US, particularly in oncogene-driven cancers. There has been remarkable progress in this field over the past few years, and there’s still more to achieve! A special thank you to Manmeet Ahluwalia, MD, MBA, FASCO and Paolo Tarantino for the invitation, as well as to all the distinguished participants. RWJBarnabas Health and Rutgers Cancer Institute have appointed Kathie-Ann Joseph as chief of breast surgery and co-director of the multidisciplinary breast program at Rutgers Cancer Institute and the Jack & Sheryl Morris Cancer Center. Joseph will oversee breast surgical oncology across clinical care, research and program development, while also serving in senior systemwide roles focused on integration and quality within RWJBarnabas Health’s Southern Region. Her appointment reflects a continued emphasis on coordinated, research-driven cancer care that spans academic medicine and regional health delivery.
