Students show their difficulties in different ways: restlessness during lessons, forgotten assignments despite clear understanding, handwriting that's hard to read, or a reluctance to join group work they'd usually take part in. Any one of these on its own is easy to spot but tells you very little, and understanding what's actually happening for that student calls for a more holistic view than a single observation can offer. The Das-Churchville ORB© System is a structured observation framework covering five domains, academic engagement, social-emotional behavior, communication, sensory and motor skills, and memory, that turns what you're noticing into something concrete. The system scores your responses instantly, flags which areas show significant concern, and provides you with matched intervention strategies, so you're not left guessing what the next steps should be. Every observation is saved, so you can track whether things are improving over weeks or months—and be ready with a clean, downloadable report for a team meeting or referral. Built for teachers, LSAs, and counselors. Click here to learn more and start your first free screening: https://lnkd.in/gQwRaZvs

How do we move from a commitment to inclusion to systems that make inclusion real? On September 17, our Executive Director Lori Boll will join the ISLES Collaborative community for Inclusion by Design: Exploring the SENIA Disability Inclusion Standards. Lori will introduce SENIA’s Disability Inclusion Standards and guide participants through a practical self-assessment designed to help schools examine where they are now and identify meaningful next steps. We’re looking forward to sharing this work with educators committed to creating schools where every learner can belong and thrive. #DisabilityInclusion #InclusiveEducation #InternationalSchools #SchoolLeadership #SENIAInternational

On World Physical Therapy Day, we honor the physical therapists, movement specialists, and school-based PTs who empower students to build physical independence and fully access their learning environments. School-based physical therapy is a critical pillar of holistic inclusion. However, allied health professionals often work in isolation within school systems. Connecting PTs with international inclusion networks, shared resources, and ongoing professional development ensures that physical, environmental, and learning supports are fully aligned. Through SENIA's Affiliate Membership, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and independent specialists gain access to a global network of inclusive practice leaders, specialized content, and collaborative support. Thank you to all physical therapists for moving inclusion forward every single day. What if a student knows exactly what to do, but still cannot get started? 🎥 SENIA Unplugged Intro Video Highlight A blank page, forgotten instructions, repeated prompting, or difficulty beginning independent work can easily be interpreted as avoidance or lack of effort. At SENIA International's Unplugged 2026 Conference, Branca Teixeira and Chaula Badiani will present: “Stuck Before the Start: Supporting Students Through Task Initiation and Working Memory from a Special Ed and Sensory-Informed Lens” Participants will examine task initiation and working memory through executive function and sensory-informed perspectives. Participants will explore how to: • Recognize signs of task initiation and working memory challenges • Understand how sensory regulation influences participation • Reframe assumptions about motivation, effort, and attention • Reduce cognitive load through practical classroom supports • Use visual systems, movement, scaffolds, and environmental adjustments • Strengthen collaboration around students who need additional support Join Branca, Chaula, and educators around the world at SENIA Unplugged 2026, November 20 to 22. What important information about a student might never appear on an admissions form? 🎥 SENIA Unplugged Intro Video Highlight Transitions can reveal challenges that were previously hidden. Entering a new school, changing grades, or preparing to leave can all create moments when students need more intentional support. At SENIA International's Unplugged 2026 Conference, Amanda Lee Dayal and Rubina Anis will present: “Understanding What Lies Beneath: Admissions and Transition Tools for Learner Support” Amanda and Rubina will help educators examine the blind spots that can occur during admissions and transitions and introduce practical tools for responding more effectively. Participants will explore how to: • Identify needs that may remain hidden during admissions • Ask better questions at key transition points • Recognize common blind spots in school processes • Support students entering, moving through, and leaving school communities • Consider the unique experiences of internationally mobile families • Build smoother transitions that help students feel seen and supported Join Amanda, Rubina, and educators around the world at SENIA Unplugged 2026, November 20 to 22. 🎉 SENIA World Changer Award — September 2026 🎉 We’re proud to announce Advaith “Addu” Menon as the SENIA World Changer Award for September 2026! Addu inspires inclusion by showing that communication extends far beyond spoken words. As a non-verbal autistic individual, he moderated the Autism Awareness Panel at Cisco with incredible confidence. Using the Avaz app to introduce panelists, ask thoughtful questions, and share how his helmet helps him manage anxiety. In front of nearly 230 employees, Addu challenged stereotypes and reminded us that every communication style, AAC, gestures, or technology, carries equal meaning. His leadership is proof that autistic individuals can create productivity, connection, and meaningful impact when opportunities and inclusion are made real. 💛 📽️ Watch a short video to see Addu’s message in action: https://lnkd.in/gxaeTdb2 Congratulations, Addu! 👏✨
