This Older Americans Month, we’re championing health by celebrating the everyday choices and environments that help older adults stay active, connected, and independent. We believe a true culture of wellness is built into the design and daily rhythms of a community by supporting movement, connection, and purpose at every turn. That can look like: ➡️ Walkable, light‑filled corridors and outdoor paths that naturally encourage daily movement ➡️ Inviting stairs, fitness‑forward amenities, and flexible spaces that support strength and balance ➡️ Dining, wellness, and social spaces placed intentionally to promote connection and reduce isolation ➡️ Access to nature, daylight, and views that support both physical and mental well‑being When physical activity, social engagement, and healthy habits are reinforced by the environment itself, residents are more likely to participate consistently and maintain independence longer. 👉 Explore more on designing a culture of wellness: https://go.sfcs.com/bp8rwf #OlderAmericansMonth #ChampionYourHealth #CultureOfWellness #SeniorLivingDesign #ActiveAging

This project is a reminder that meaningful change doesn't always require new construction. Sometimes, it starts with seeing existing spaces differently and designing with clarity, efficiency, and real life in mind. By focusing on intention over square footage, each studio unit at Brookridge was redesigned with smart storage, custom furnishings, modern finishes, and boutique‑hotel inspiration to make the lifestyle immediately visible to prospects. "We weren't trying to make the studios feel bigger," said Carolyn Weaver, CID, NCIDQ, IIDA. "We focused on making every inch work harder so the space felt purposeful, comfortable, and easy to imagine as home." Kudos to ThriveMore and everyone involved for recognizing that this challenge was also an opportunity. The willingness to question assumptions, trust the process, and align design and marketing around a shared vision created a solution that was thoughtful and turned overlooked assets into a clear success. #SeniorLivingDesign #AdaptiveReuse #TinyHomesMassiveLifestyle #DesignThatWorks
At Brookridge, we recently faced a challenge that many Life Plan Communities know all too well: outdated studio apartments that no longer met the needs of today’s older adults. We had seven units, about 400 square feet each. They were difficult to sell, hard to visualize and often overlooked. So we asked: What if we completely reimagined them? That question sparked a transformation that’s now being shared as a case study at LeadingAge North Carolina. Our Chief Marketing Officer Jennifer Reich Bartscht presented about the project in partnership with Carolyn Weaver, CID, NCIDQ, IIDA of SFCS Architects and David Caudle from Tandem Senior Living Advisors. Under Jen's direction, SFCS re-envisioned these studios as tiny homes completely redesigned for today’s lifestyle. ✅ Custom, space-maximizing furniture options ✅ Modern finishes and updated layouts ✅ Stackable washer and dryer added to each unit ✅ Smart storage integrated throughout ✅ Features inspired by boutique hotels and high-efficiency living The goal was to make them work better, and help people immediately see themselves living there. Then came the real test: would it resonate? We piloted one unit and launched a targeted digital marketing campaign built around the theme “Tiny Homes. Massive Lifestyle." The message focused on access to the full Brookridge experience, from amenities and dining to community and connection. And the response was incredible. ➡️ All seven apartments were reserved before renovations were even fully complete ➡️ The marketing campaign was cut short because demand exceeded supply ➡️ A waitlist now exists for these newly reimagined homes What we learned is something we believe applies far beyond one community. People aren’t just choosing square footage, they’re choosing lifestyle and intentional living. This project is a great reminder that innovation doesn’t always mean building something new. Sometimes, it means seeing something familiar in an entirely different way. At ThriveMore, that mindset is at the core of how we approach our work—whether it’s rethinking existing spaces, developing new models like EverTogether Residence, or expanding access to programs like ThriveMore at Home.

Proud to see this next chapter take shape and excited for the impact it will have on residents, team members, and the broader community.
Big things are happening at Croasdaile Village! We are excited to share that Phase 4 expansion is moving forward, with land disturbance permits received and site preparation beginning soon. In partnership with LCS Development LLC, @Blum Construction, and SFCS Architects this expansion will include: * 4 new Park Home buildings * 21 Villas * Growth of our community by approximately 100 residents, bringing our campus to just under 900 residents served! This milestone represents more than construction — it reflects the continued trust older adults place in our community and the growing demand for vibrant, mission-driven senior living homes. As we continue to grow, our focus remains the same: creating a community where residents can thrive through connection, wellness, hospitality, and compassionate support across the continuum of care. Excited for what’s ahead and grateful for the many team members, residents, partners, and leaders helping shape the future of our community.

Proud to celebrate this exciting milestone alongside Cross Keys Village – The Brethren Home Community and an outstanding group of partners!
Cross Keys Village – The Brethren Home Community proudly marked a significant milestone with the groundbreaking of our Hearthside expansion in New Oxford, PA. This project reflects both the growing demand for community-centered senior living and our long-term commitment to providing thoughtfully designed homes that support vitality, engagement, and peace of mind. Upon completion in 2027, the expansion will add 40 new residences to the existing Hearthside neighborhood with more than half of which are already reserved. We were honored to celebrate alongside residents, board members, local officials, and valued project partners, including HRG Civil Engineering, Mowery Construction, York Excavating and SFCS Architects. The event also offered a meaningful opportunity for future residents to connect and begin forming their community. As a nonprofit, faith-based life plan community serving approximately 1,200 residents, Cross Keys Village continues to invest in innovative living options that meet evolving expectations while maintaining a strong foundation of care and connection. To learn more about Hearthside or attend an upcoming information session, visit www.crosskeysvillage.org or call 717-624-5877.
