About us
GROW WITH US Sierra Pacific Industries is a fourth-generation, family-owned forest products company. Started in 1949 with one small sawmill – today we employ over 6500 crew members and are one of the largest U.S. lumber producers. We are committed to responsible land management to protect the environment while providing quality wood products and renewable power to consumers. SPI owns and sustainably manages over 2.4 million acres of timberland in California, Oregon and Washington. We are growing forests for our future, planting over 10 million new trees every year. Our forests are carefully managed by a team of foresters, wildlife biologists, botanists & other professionals. Our advanced manufacturing processes allow us to utilize nearly 100% of every piece of wood we bring to our mills. We produce lumber, millwork, and landscaping material. Any byproduct material is converted into electricity in our eight biomass-fueled power plants. Our Sierra Pacific Windows division crafts windows and doors at our 5 manufacturing plants from wood grown and harvested in our own forests. From planted seed to delivered window and door, we have a truly vertically integrated process. Today, Sierra Pacific products are installed in 30 countries around the globe, with more than 600 dealers and distributors across the country. WHY JOIN OUR TEAM? In addition to paid vacation and 10 paid holidays, we provide an excellent benefit package including a full Health Benefits Plan (including medical, dental, and vision) with low-cost premiums, a 401(k) with Company Match, additional Retirement Contributions, and company-paid Life Insurance. Every year since 1979, the Sierra Pacific Foundation has provided an average of $500,000 in scholarships to help the children of our crew members with education expenses. At Sierra Pacific, our success is driven by the dedication and hard work of our incredible crew members. Every quarter, we feature a Spotlight on Success story in our company newsletter. This feature highlights those with exceptional character and who consistently go above and beyond. This fall marks 25 years for Joseph Cheney at Sierra Pacific’s Anderson Division. Starting as a laborer in the Planer Department, Joseph worked his way up through determination and continuous learning—becoming a certified lumber grader and now serving as Planer Production Supervisor, leading a crew. “My focus is keeping the crew safe, motivated, and meeting our quality and production standards,” he shared. Joseph’s journey is a reflection of hard work, growth, and investing in yourself. We’re proud to recognize Joseph as this quarter’s Spotlight on Success.

Happy Arbor Day! 🌲 Recently we donated over 1,000 seedlings to attendees at the Eugene Emeralds Baseball game Lumberjack night to take home and plant themselves! In addition to donating seedlings, SPI plants millions of trees every year as part of our commitment to sustainable forestry and healthy working forests. #arborday #growingforestsforourfuture

#MeetourMills SPI Sonora! Located in Tuolumne County, CA in the Sierra Nevada Foothills, Sonora is a historic gold rush town complete with charm. The SPI Sonora site is home to 230 dedicated crew members and includes a large log mill, producing dimensional lumber, timbers, industrials and pencil stock, a bark plant producing decorative bark and colored chips for landscaping material – as well as a Cogeneration power plant which generates enough renewable electricity to power 12,520 homes! Sonora neighbors another SPI mill in Chinese Camp, about a half hour away.
