Starbucks announces ambition to expand its Military Family Coffeehouses. ☕️ Starbucks aims to reach around 450 over the next four years, creating welcoming, locally inspired spaces on or near military bases where connection and community can thrive. “We were able to make friends and build connections with people who have the same kind of life story,” said Alycia, Starbucks partner and military family member. Additionally, Starbucks is inviting customers to give back through a Military Appreciation Month eGift, with $5 donated to Blue Star Families for each military eGift purchased in May (up to $250K). Today, I’m proud to celebrate more than 1,100 Starbucks partners — our largest Starbucks College Achievement Plan (SCAP) graduating class ever — who earned their first bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University, with 100% upfront tuition coverage. This milestone brings us to nearly 20,000 partners who have turned their part‑ or full‑time job into a college degree and a future full of possibilities — with another 27,000 on their way. Since launching SCAP in 2014, we’ve stayed focused on removing barriers to education: with 100% upfront tuition coverage, access for part‑time partners, over 150 degree options, and no strings attached after graduation. When we invest in partners’ education, we strengthen our coffeehouses, our bench, and our future. Alongside Bean Stock, paid parental leave, and our commitment to fill 90% of retail leadership roles from within, SCAP reflects what’s possible when we put people first with truly life‑changing benefits.
