  • The transition into practice matters. At Texas Children’s, we’ve paired our Nurse Residency and Nurse Mentorship programs to provide structured support for nurses during their first year and beyond. This combined approach helps new graduate nurses build confidence, strengthen connections, and grow throughout the early stages of their careers. • Today, we reflect on the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his call to lead with dignity and purpose. At Texas Children’s, that belief lives in the care we provide, the people who make it possible, and the standards we hold ourselves to every day. Each role, each effort, and each act of compassion contributes to caring for children and families across our communities and around the world. We are especially grateful for our incredible teams working today, ensuring every child and family receives the care they need. Together, we remain committed to serving all who walk through our doors with excellence and heart. ❤️

  • Last week, Texas Children’s - Austin was proud to welcome Austin Mayor Kirk Watson for his first tour of our campus. During his visit, Mayor Watson saw firsthand the impact of care happening every day across Central Texas—from the Ronald McDonald House, to our Craniofacial Clinic, to the advanced, life-saving services provided through Women’s Services. Our physician experts highlighted the multidisciplinary approach behind these programs and the critical role they play in supporting the health of children, mothers, and families. We’re grateful for the opportunity to share the world-class care our teams deliver and to continue meaningful conversations around collaboration, including Dr. Shilt’s ongoing dialogue with the Mayor on his Generation ATX initiative. Together, we’re working toward a healthier future for our community. ❤️
