Just wrapped up a great week in San Diego at Advanced Therapies Week 2026! 🌺🌴 From all the conversations I had this week, my main takeaway was that advanced therapies are still progressing, but in a more disciplined market. Sponsors are prioritizing specialized expertise and strategic alignment in their CDMO partnerships. Pricing power is being driven by scarcity of technical depth and regulatory strength, not simply scale. I especially enjoyed Daniel Smith session, “Inside the CDMO Landscape: Factors Shaping Advanced Therapies Manufacturing.” It captured exactly what so many people were talking about throughout the week. The themes centered around funding pressure, pricing dynamics, and increasing specialization. Last week was our team’s favorite of the year: the company-wide yearly planning meeting at the NYC headquarters. During these weeks, what’s often virtual became personal. Putting a face to a name, spending real time together, and enjoying extracurricular activities outside of work (even something as simple as feeding the birds in Union Square) are sometimes more valuable for productivity than the meetings themselves.
