It's been a great couple of weeks for songwriters at CMA! In New York, we hosted the CMA Songwriters Series, 21 years after the series debuted in the Big Apple. Dierks Bentley, Jim Beavers, Jon Randall, Priscilla Block, Matthew Ramsey from Old Dominion, Charlie Worsham and Karen Fairchild of Little Big Town performed for the packed house at Racket NYC. Then, we celebrated this year's most successful songwriters in Country Music with the CMA Triple Play Awards. Sixteen songwriters were honored with Triple Play Awards, which recognize three No. 1 hits in a 12-month period. Bart Herbison was given the CMA Songwriter Advocate Award for his work on behalf of songwriters at Nashville Songwriters Association International, and a tribute to new Country Music Hall of Fame inductee Paul Overstreet was performed by Overstreet's children.
