The responses to my last post reminded me of something: Yes, companies need the right people. But candidates deserve a fair shot too. Great people are often overlooked because of rushed processes or poor communication, and when that happens, frustration builds on both sides. As recruiters, we need to own that. In-step with hiring the right people, it's also about treating candidates with respect, dignity, and honesty along the way. The best outcomes happen when both sides feel seen and valued. What's one thing you hope to see companies do differently in the hiring process?

In the recruiting world (and really business in general), the hardest part isn’t finding qualified people for open jobs. It’s finding the right people. The ones who bring more than a checklist of skills. The ones who are consistent, honest, patient, have the ability to connect on a human level... The ones who care about their work and care about your organization. Qualifications matter. But companies are made of humans...and sometimes the intangibles are the real make-or-break.
