SSPs are losing their position within advertising’s supply chain. My recent article in AdExchanger details some thoughts on why and the opportunity SSP’s still have to deliver greater value to the streaming media advertising market. The short version: - The Trade Desk has made its position clear - Being agnostic isn’t a strength anymore, it’s a liability - If SSPs want to thrive, they need to stop being neutral and start being useful The Opportunity: - Reclaim pricing power - Drive incremental revenue growth for media owners - Create new & proprietary ad supply that buyers cant get anywhere else - Establish demand sources that are unique, premium & diversified Demand-side platforms shouldn’t dictate the entire marketplace.
