It's time for another #ThrowbackThursday as we count down to the Two Ten Gala this June! Community has always been at the heart of the Two Ten Gala, but entertainment has long been part of its magic as well. At our 44th banquet in 1983, guests were treated to performances by comedian Norm Crosby and legendary singer Dionne Warwick. Fun fact: the event took place the same night as Super Bowl XVII, so the game was broadcast live in the Grand Foyer. This Mother’s Day, we’re celebrating the many ways women lead, support, and care for those around them at home, at work, and everywhere in between. In a powerful guest essay, footwear industry leader Faryl Morse shares her experience building a career in footwear while navigating the realities of caregiving. When she launched Faryl Robin in 2001, her vision went beyond creating great footwear. She wanted to build a workplace that recognized and supported the realities of caregiving. “Nobody should choose between family obligations and work obligations in a world where they can coexist,” said Faryl. As we gear up for this year’s annual gala on June 2, we’re taking it back to where it all began. In 1940, more than 1,000 people gathered for Two Ten’s very first “banquet” at the Hotel Statler, marking the start of a powerful tradition. At the time, Two Ten president and co-founder Abe Berkowitz called the turnout a “seal of acceptance” that our mission was truly a worthy one. More than 80 years later, our mission is stronger than ever. Learn more about our gala: https://twoten.org/gala/
