As gas prices continue to rise, Americans are finding creative ways to save. "If trains and buses aren’t an option, fear not. Veo, an e-bike provider, reported in March 68% of its riders had opted for an electric scooter or bike trip instead of driving themselves due to gas prices." Across the country, shared scooters are bikes are helping Americans save money while offering a sustainable, convenient way to get around. Denver, we’re live ⚡Are you ready to ride? Veo is teaming up with the City and County of Denver to offer the community one of the largest and most diverse fleets in the country, with up to 9,000 vehicles across five distinct vehicle types. Approximately 70% of the fleet will be seated vehicles, designed to expand access for riders of diverse ages and abilities, increase safety, and support a wider range of trip types. Paired with the Denver Resident Pass and Veo Access Program to keep rides affordable, more riders can make shared scooters and bikes part of their daily transportation. And just like that, Veo now calls Denver home—we’re LIVE. Less than 24 hours in, and seeing this come to life across the city has been pretty incredible. I’m very proud of the Veo team—the thought, care, and grit behind this launch shows everywhere you look! We’re rolling out 9,000 vehicles across 5 types 🛴 🚲 🛵 🎡 🛸 — so everyone can find one that works for them and their trip. More importantly, this program is designed to be affordable and accessible, giving people a simple, reliable way to get around. This is a very special moment. Reaching more than 3 million people across the Denver metro area. This is an important step for City and County of Denver — a city leading the way in designing transportation around how people actually move. Thoughtful and intentional about how to encourage real mode shift and reduce short car trips, and building a system that works in everyday life. As the exclusive operator for this program, we see this as a long-term responsibility. Our focus is simple: keep making this better—more reliable, more accessible, more affordable—so it becomes part of how people get around the city without thinking twice, and continue raising the bar for what a program like this can deliver. If you see me out in the field, don’t be a stranger—come say hi!

As gas prices climb past $4 per gallon, more Veo riders are rethinking short car trips. We surveyed riders who own or have access to a car to understand how higher gas prices are shaping travel decisions. More than two-thirds said they replaced car trips with shared scooter or bike rides over the past month due to prices at the pump. “Gas spikes can act as a motivator for people to try micromobility for the first time,” said Alexander Keating, Veo's Vice President of Policy and Partnerships. “Many of those riders will find that it works reliably for their commute or errands and may continue using it even after prices ease.” Via Cities Today: https://lnkd.in/gG4ke7EU

TIME named Veo one of the top GreenTech companies in the U.S. 🌎 We’ve always believed real impact comes from doing three things well: building a product people actually use, running a sustainable business, and continuing to innovate. I'm incredibly grateful to every member of the Veo team who shows up each day with real ownership of what we’re building. And to our city partners and riders — true collaborators in shaping the future of micromobility. Excited for what’s ahead! https://lnkd.in/ggMyjHmR

Rising gas prices are driving Americans to shared bikes and scooters, Veo study reveals. As the Iran war pushes US gas prices to over $4 per gallon for the first time in four years, a survey from the the micromobility operator has found that 68% of respondents have replaced car trips with shared scooter or bike rides in the past 30 days due to higher fuel costs. “Operators and enthusiasts have been saying for years that micromobility can decrease car travel. But with widespread affordability challenges and even wider economic pressures, people are starting to take it even more seriously,” Celeste Alana Brown, MPA, Veo’s Social Impact Lead, previously told Zag Daily in an interview on cost barriers to transport. Big wins rarely look this steady. From demoing scooters out of a car trunk to landing the largest exclusive micromobility contract in the US, Candice Xie has built Veo with a very different playbook. While others chased scale, she focused on the basics that actually matter. Better vehicles, real rider needs, and strong relationships with cities. That discipline paid off with profitability in an industry that often struggled to get there. In her conversation with Prabin Joel Jones, she breaks down why accessibility, in-house operations, and long-term thinking shaped Veo’s growth. Even the recent 5 year, 9k vehicle deal in Denver is a result of consistency, not just a strong pitch. If you want to understand what it really takes to build a sustainable micromobility company, this story is worth your time. Honored to see Veo recognized by Fast Company as one of the most innovative companies in transportation for 2026! ⚡ 🛴 🚲 Yanke(Edwin) Tan and I always believed innovation should solve real transportation problems, not just create something new. It should make micromobility work for more people, fit better into city life, and hold up in the real world. That belief is behind our focus on seated and more accessible vehicles, and behind how closely we work with cities every day. I’m grateful to the Veo team for pushing this category forward with creativity, discipline, and real commitment. And thank you to our riders and city partners for continuing to make us better. We’re still early, but recognition like this is a reminder of what this category can become: a practical and inclusive part of everyday transportation.
