🛰️ What would happen if satellite connectivity was unavailable? A new European Space Agency - ESA study, using insight from Viasat experts, shows the impact could be swift – and costly. Key findings include: 🚢 €9.6bn disruption in maritime including shipping lanes and global safety ✈️ 4,000+ transatlantic flights disrupted in aviation, and 🙋🏻♂️ €262.8m losses as 2.2 million people lose access to connectivity, education, work, and emergency messaging Over 90% of total losses would occur in maritime and aviation – highlighting that satellite communications are essential infrastructure, not a nice-to-have. It’s official: ViaSat-3 F3 has successfully launched and we have acquired initial signals from the spacecraft! 🚀🛰️📡 The satellite lifted off on April 29, 2026 at 10:13 a.m. ET aboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket from Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Just under 5 hours after liftoff, ViaSat-3 F3 successfully separated from the Falcon Heavy, and first signals were acquired shortly after separation.
