Transforming the lives of abused and neglected children

About us

Voices for Children transforms the lives of abused, neglected, or abandoned children in San Diego and Riverside Counties by providing them with trained, volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs). We believe that every child deserves a safe and permanent home, and to that end, will review and monitor every court file in the system, provide a CASA to every child in the foster care system who needs one, and advocate to improve the lives of San Diego County’s foster children.

Updates

  • Meet 8-year-old Aiden. He’s a straight-A student who loves his "Dog Man" books, but when his glasses broke on the playground, his world became a blur. For a child in foster care, even a basic need like a new pair of glasses can become a complicated hurdle without someone to advocate for them. Luckily, Aiden had CASA Rosie in his corner. As his educational rights holder, Rosie didn’t just notice the problem — she solved it. CASA Rosie teamed up with his social worker and used a Voices for Children voucher to get Aiden brand-new frames in his favorite color, bright blue! The best part? The look on Aiden’s face when he put them on and could finally read his favorite book series, Dog Man. Your support does so much more than pay for a pair of glasses.👓 It gives a child in foster care the ability to learn, play, and thrive. ✨ Advocates like CASA Rosie show up for children in foster care every single day to ensure their needs are never overlooked. Join us in making these life-changing moments possible by giving today 👉 https://lnkd.in/germiWbT

  • Huge thanks to ESPNLA710 and Anthony O’Leary from Voices for Children for shedding light on the vital work of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) at the Pechanga Charity Golf Tournament! ⛳️ Anthony’s story is a testament to the power of advocacy and the profound impact a CASA can have on a child’s future. With over 200 children currently on the waiting list in Riverside County, the need for volunteers — specifically men and bilingual advocates — is greater than ever. Let’s help ensure every child in the foster care system has the advocacy they deserve. Are you ready to be the difference? Visit speakupnow.org to learn how you can become a CASA volunteer today!

  • At Voices for Children, we know that a single consistent adult can change the trajectory of a young person's life. This National Foster Awareness Care Month, we’re reflecting on the insights shared by our recent Real Word Speakers Panel. A huge thank you to our phenomenal panelists for sharing their truth: Anthony reminded us of the immense resilience that youth in foster care develop and why their powerful stories deserve to be heard by the world. Vanessa shared the life-changing perspective that a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) doesn't save a child — they empower youth to save themselves. Josh highlighted the importance of staying true to your authentic self while building a professional future and a community. Emanuel highlighted the power of the positive, sharing how "good things" like his 10-year bond with CASA Tim and the support of his foster parents are stories that deserve to be told. Their stories are why we do what we do. Hundreds of children in San Diego and Riverside are still waiting for the advocacy they deserve. This month, will you commit to being the one constant adult in a child's life as their CASA? Visit speakupnow.org to see how you can support children in foster care and become a CASA volunteer ✨ #ChildAdvocacy #FosterCare #SpeakUpNow #CASA #VoicesforChildren #ExtendedFosterCare #RealWord #YouthVoices #Volunteer #SupportYouth #CASAsChangeLives

  • We are beyond inspired by Jaron Moore, who recently took on the massive challenge of running 100 miles in the San Diego 100 Mile Endurance Run to support our mission at Voices for Children! Every mile Jaron ran helps us provide more Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) to children who have experienced abuse or neglect, ensuring they have a consistent, caring adult in their corner. Thank you, Jaron, for going the extra mile (and then some!) for our community’s children. Your support is making a life-changing difference! #VoicesForChildren #CASAs #CommunityHero #100MileRun #FosterCareAdvocacy

  • During #NationalFosterCareAwarenessMonth, support children like Lexi: https://buff.ly/QAEPmZZ For a long time, Lexi didn’t feel well, but her pain was often dismissed or overlooked. It wasn’t until she met her CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate), Susie, that she finally felt safe enough to share the full extent of her health struggles. When Lexi was hospitalized, CASA Susie didn’t just stand by. She rushed to her side, coordinated with doctors, and ensured the court and social workers knew exactly what was happening. Because Susie listened when others didn't, Lexi was finally diagnosed with a rare, severe disorder and is now receiving the life-saving care she needs. Without a CASA, Lexi’s story might have been very different. This month, help us ensure no child has to suffer in silence. Your gift provides the advocacy that turns trust into life-saving outcomes. 🩺✨ #VoicesForChildren #BuildingTrust #CASA #FosterCareAdvocacy #SanDiego #ListenToYouth #Advocacy #FosterCare #CASA #HealthcareAdvocacy #Impact

  • Voices for Children is incredibly honored to be awarded $50,000 at this year’s Pechanga Charity Golf Classic! ⛳️✨ Changing the trajectory for a child in foster care is a collective effort, and our Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) are at the heart of that work. As the only organization designated by the Courts to provide CASA volunteers in the region, we serve hundreds of children in foster care who have experienced abuse or neglect. These funds will directly support our mission to provide life-changing advocacy to every child in the foster care system in Riverside County. Our partnership with the Pechanga Tribe is truly special. As the official CASA program for the Pechanga Tribe’s Child and Family Services, we see firsthand how a child’s life is transformed when a community invests in their future. This collaboration reinforces that when we show up together, we provide the stability every child needs to move from simply existing in the system to truly thriving. A heartfelt thank you to the Pechanga Tribe and the entire community for being such dedicated champions for vulnerable youth. Together, we are ensuring every child is heard. #VoicesForChildren #PechangaCharityGolfClassic #CASA #CommunityFirst #RiversideCounty #SupportLocalYouth #FosterCare

  • It’s National Foster Care Awareness Month, and the need in Riverside County is urgent 👉https://lnkd.in/gZZb4CZy Currently, 187 children are waiting for a CASA volunteer to stand by their side. Can you help? Learn how to become an advocate for a child in foster care today: https://buff.ly/9Rv21sF Last year, 431 incredibly special community members stepped up to become Court Appointed Special Advocate, or CASA, volunteers and provided life-changing advocacy for a child in foster care. Yet, with nearly 6,000 children navigating the system this year—many entirely on their own—the need remains critical. A CASA is a dedicated volunteer who serves as the consistent voice for a child. By focusing on only one child or sibling set at a time, a CASA is able to build a deep, trusting relationship and truly understand a child's unique hopes and needs. A CASA can be the difference between a child thriving or simply existing as a number during a traumatic time in their lives. A heartfelt thank you to The Desert Sun for highlighting how our Coachella Valley neighbors can step up for our youth. #NationalFosterCareAwarenessMonth #RiversideCounty #CASA #Volunteer #FosterCare #BeTheDifference #CoachellaValley #VoicesForChildren

  • As we kick off National Foster Care Awareness Month, we are reminded that the power of one caring adult can change a child's life forever. Meet CASA Melanie. Through her dedicated advocacy, she helped baby Esperanza navigate severe medical challenges, transition out of the NICU, and find stability in a new home. In court, the Judge told Melanie, "In Spanish, the name 'Esperanza' means 'hope,' and that is the gift you have given this child." Esperanza is just one of more than 8,500 children living in foster care in San Diego and Riverside Counties. They all deserve a happy, healthy childhood and a consistent, caring adult to speak up for their needs. Please consider making a generous gift to support our CASAs today. 💙 Give Hope: https://buff.ly/6sgrZEG #FosterCareAwarenessMonth #ChildAdvocacy #VoicesForChildren #Philanthropy #SanDiegoCounty #RiversideCounty
