We're looking forward to hearing from Carla Walker-Miller this Thursday, May 21, during the 42nd Annual Edison Electric Institute (EEI) Supplier Engagement Conference in Philadelphia. Join us from 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm for “Short Takes” - mini sessions providing a closer look at best practices. This fireside chat, "Stronger Together: Energy Efficiency Programs Ensuring a Path for Full Supplier Engagement" explores how primes, small, and local suppliers are integrating smart solutions like energy efficiency practices and demand-side management technologies to address grid reliability and resilience, and to prioritize customer affordability. The Edison Electric Institute (EEI) is the association that represents all U.S. investor-owned electric companies. EEI drives the policies, connects the people, and provides the strategic business insights that support investor-owned electric companies as they work to deliver reliable, affordable energy to customers and communities across the country. Grateful to see Black Enterprise Magazine highlight this moment for RECESS. Becoming an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit marks a meaningful step forward, and the mission stays the same: inviting Black, Indigenous, Brown, and other historically underrepresented people as co-creators of America's clean energy future. RECESS26 returns to Detroit with the theme Mission: Possible – The Regenerative Power of Clean Energy, grounded in a simple belief: when people are invited in and supported, communities don’t just participate, they lead. On May 6, 2026, 14 adults with IDD completed a journey that began a year ago with them sitting in a conference room, most of them timid and unwilling to speak. Over the course of the last year they learned about PECO's energy efficiency programs and started telling the people they met at events across PECO’s territory. While doing so, they found their voices and more importantly their confidence! Walker-Miller Energy Services would like to thank our utility partner PECO for giving us the opportunity to work with a program that has an impact such as this! Congratulations to the PECO Energy Force Ambassador Class of 2025-26! To view the full gallery of photos visit: https://lnkd.in/e3JuEBuF. About the Program Energy Force Ambassadors receive Energy Efficiency training and resources to help educate others on ways to save money and energy; learning all about PECO’s entire portfolio of Energy Efficiency programs so they can then help their peers and the public understand the benefits of energy efficiency and conservation. Once trained, Ambassadors attend community events (virtually or in person) alongside our outreach team, teaching people what they have learned through fun, collaborative, and energetic demonstrations. #WeAreWalkerMiller #EmpoweringPeopleEnrichingCommunities #PECOEnergyForceAmbassadors

#SaveTheDate September 27–29, 2026 #RECESS26
The clean energy future will be stronger when more people are invited to help build it. RECESS creates space for new voices to enter the conversation and step into opportunity. Through sponsorship, partners help intentionally invite Black, Indigenous, Brown, and other historically underrepresented communities into the clean energy economy. That support helps open doors for students, entrepreneurs, and community leaders who are ready to learn, lead, and shape what comes next. Because who we invite into the room matters. 🟧 Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center 🟥 September 27–29, 2026 🟪 Learn more about sponsorship: https://lnkd.in/erg2A6vU Come with Purpose.
