As cities prepare for global events like the World Cup, one thing becomes clear: infrastructure helps makes those moments possible. It’s also what shapes everyday life. This #InfrastructureWeek, we’re reflecting on how systems designed for daily use—streets, transit, public spaces—are tested under peak demand and what that reveals about how we plan, design, and deliver projects. A few thoughts from #MooreExpert Heather Guillen, PE, ENV SP on what global events reveal about urban systems: 👇 https://lnkd.in/g9QCf3wZ

Infrastructure Week is a good reminder of the role infrastructure plays in everyday life. In Houston, Club Creek Park and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial does exactly that—transforming infrastructure into a place for remembrance, resilience, and civic life. What was once a flood-prone corridor is now a space that manages stormwater, restores habitat, and creates a meaningful public environment. This is of where infrastructure shows its most value: reducing risk, supporting the environment, and contributing to places people use and remember. #LearnMoore: https://lnkd.in/gDjfSMZP #MooreProjects #InfrastructureWeek #BuildingaStrongerAmerica #ResilientDesign

Last week marked the ribbon cutting for the new Thomas A. Fanning Student-Athlete Performance Center at Georgia Tech, a major investment in the future of student-athlete performance, wellness, and support. The 100,000-square-foot facility brings together training, sports medicine, nutrition, analytics, and football operations into a unified environment designed to support the full student-athlete experience. Walter P Moore contributed structural engineering expertise to the project, including strategies that helped reclaim and reuse structural steel from Bobby Dodd Stadium’s demolished upper deck, reducing embodied carbon while repurposing existing materials within the new facility’s structural system. Congratulations to the project team on this exciting milestone! #MooreProjects #HigherEducation #SustainableDesign

I was able to celebrate with the design team for the topping out of the Regions Arena in Mobile, Alabama, this week. It was a great opportunity to work with Populous and GMC Architects, along with Henderson Engineers, built by BL Harbert International LLC. It will be a great facility when it opens next year. I got a photo from the hotel we were staying at and managed to stay out of the rest of the photos. Milestones like this are always a good reminder that the hard work, coordination, and dedication from the entire team are worth it! Walter P Moore

Today, Sara Damiani Bailey and I had the privilege of delivering 100 cookies to the nurses at the Northside Hospital Emergency Department on behalf of Walter P Moore and Women In Healthcare - Georgia Chapter. My mom is a nurse (so was my Noni!) so nurses will always hold a special place in my heart. I've seen firsthand the compassion, dedication, and strength that this profession requires. Thank you to all the nurses who care for our communities every single day. I was grateful for the opportunity to give even a small token appreciation for all that you do. We see you! 🏥 💙 🩺 #WalterPMoore #HospitalWeek #WeAreHealthCare

Virginia Commonwealth University Health’s Adult Outpatient Pavilion reshapes how care is delivered on an urban medical campus; bringing 26 clinical programs together in a single, highly connected facility. Designed for a constrained, sloped site, the project prioritizes continuity of care, efficient patient arrival, and flexibility for advanced treatment and future growth. Engineering solutions supported specialized clinical spaces, integrated parking and access across multiple levels, and daylight-filled treatment areas while keeping care operations moving without disruption. The result is an outpatient facility that improves access, streamlines workflows, and supports a better patient experience for the Greater Richmond community. #LearnMoore: https://lnkd.in/g4CsQFA6 #MooreProjects #Healthcare #HospitalWeek

The next generation of sports venues is about more than capacity, it’s about immersion, flexibility, and fan experience. The transformation of the Delta Center is a great example of that shift: • Dual-sport functionality • New suspended gondola seating • Reimagined sightlines and intensified atmosphere Projects like this require extensive structural coordination behind the scenes to bring bold fan experiences to life within an existing arena. We’re proud to support the ongoing evolution of the Delta Center alongside the project team. #MooreProjects #HockeyMeetsHoops
The next chapter of the #DeltaCenter is taking shape. Enhanced upper bowl seating and new vantage points are part of an intentional transformation that will elevate every experience. Whether you're here for basketball, hockey, or other live events, every detail is designed for the fans. Learn More: https://lnkd.in/grK75_rU

National Hospital Week highlights the people and hospitals that keep care connected to community. Behind every moment of care is an environment designed to support it. Hospitals are more than buildings—they’re living systems that must function safely, efficiently, and without interruption when it matters most. In Designing for Care: Where Safety, Systems, and Human Impact Meet, Sam B., a structural engineer and active paramedic, reflects on how design decisions like emergency access and site circulation directly influence response times, workflow, and patient outcomes. #LearnMoore: https://lnkd.in/gBtYGtya #MooreVoices #HospitalWeek #WeAreHealthCare
