Informative video by Craig Fuller breaking down the latest Roadcheck report and what the inspection data means for the trucking industry. With 32% of inspected trucks reportedly placed out of service, it’s a clear reminder of how important proactive maintenance, driver preparation, compliance, and safety standards are across our industry. We support this mission across all Cox Group entities by reinforcing safe operating practices, maintaining high equipment standards, and promoting a culture where safety is part of the job every day.
Road check week has resulted in 32% of trucks being flagged as unsafe and put out of service. If this trend holds through the end of the week, it will be the biggest crackdown in history and a testament to how much work we have to ensure that our trucking industry is safe and compliant. And man, it is showing in the rate data. Daily spot rates have surged to $3.50/mile, a demonstration of how tight this market is and a warning to shippers that the second half could be a wrecking ball for routing guides.
