Today, increasing numbers of small business owners and entrepreneurs are navigating a reality where they feel increasingly unheard. This represents a sharp contrast from the deep support many experienced during COVID. In a recent episode of SMB Report with Kirk LaPointe, our CEO and Co-Founder, Cybele Negris, ICD.D, GCB.D, shared insights from a 25-year journey of building Webnames.ca and Webnames Corporate, entrepreneurship, nurturing relationships with other SMBs, and what she’s seeing in our current small business landscape. A Hall of Fame inductee for Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women, Cybele discusses leadership, resilience, and the importance of diversity of thought with Kirk, as well as the importance of surrounding yourself with steady and thoughtful people who can strengthen decision-making in uncertain times and challenge you when necessary. Watch or listen to the Cybele’s perspective on entrepreneurship, leadership, and the future of small business in BC and across Canada: https://lnkd.in/gNskBjgV Thank you to Kirk LaPointe and his team for pursuing conversations that matter to Canada’s business community. #SmallBusiness #CanadianBusiness #BCBusiness #Leadership #Entrepreneurship #SMB & thanks to Spraggs Group

Domains in 2025 told a story about how we felt. Key themes included: legacy + trust, innovation + identity, and localism. From the rise of .AI to doubling down on .CA, here’s what we learned: https://zurl.co/eEsxb Footnote: domain security will matter even more in 2026 🌐🔒

The biggest lesson from our "Find Your Canadian Identity" campaign wasn't just in the data, it was in the process. It proved that a random spark of inspiration (shout out to JDoolz - wherever you are) can turn into something strategic when you: 🎤 Commit to the bit (yes, we really did register ALL those funny .CA domains). 📍 Ground it in authenticity (local humour for local people). 📊 Measure it the right way (but don't trust just one source). 🇨🇦 Have great partners (CIRA ) A huge thank you to our team for their creativity and execution, and to our partner CIRA for their support in helping Canadian businesses and identities succeed online. This campaign shows the power of a great .CA story. For brand managers, strategic marketers and executives: The strategy of building memorable, owned digital assets (like branded .CA domains) while precisely measuring their full funnel impact is a repeatable model for sustainable growth. This is only scratching the surface. Is your brand leveraging its digital identity to its full potential? Let's discuss how a strategic approach to domains and data can proactively protect your marketing investments and build lasting customer connections: https://zurl.co/TFq5J Let Round 2 of guess which city the creative belongs to BEGIN! #DigitalStrategy #BrandBuilding #CanadianBusiness #dotCA #MarketingWin #CanadianIdentity

What if you were only seeing a fraction of your campaign's true impact? That's the power of choosing the right attribution model. For our "Find Your Canadian Identity" campaign, we used Meta's 7-day click, 1-day view model. Why? We believed our ads worked not just by driving immediate clicks, but stick in people's heads from the clever humour, reminding them we exist. The data proved it. The vast majority of this campaign's success came from the "view-through" window (the people who saw the ad, but didn't click). A click-only model would have shown only a small slice of the performance, leading us to undervalue a major success. Lesson 4: Your attribution model is a strategic choice. Picking one that aligns with how your customers actually buy (often after multiple touches) is crucial for seeing the real picture and scaling what works. #MarketingStrategy #Attribution #BrandAwareness #DataDriven #dotCA #CIRA

This has been a meaningful year at The Prosperity Project. From releasing our fifth Annual Report Card on Gender Equity and Leadership to hosting 12 professional development workshops, none of this progress would have been possible without the unwavering support of our partners. At a time when many organizations across North America are pulling back from women-focused initiatives, our partners continue to stand with us. Their commitment supports our mission to remove the systemic barriers that limit women’s advancement and Canada’s economic prosperity. To each of our partners, thank you. Your commitment strengthens our work, widens our impact, and helps build a more prosperous future for women across Canada. How do you make a national campaign feel local? You get hyper-local with your humour! For the Find Your Canadian Identity campaign, we didn't just make Canada-wide puns. We dug into regional identities and got really specific: 🇨🇦 Canada-wide: "Ate too much poutine?" ICurdNotResist.ca 🎯 Regional: We researched what makes each area tick: colloquialisms, customs, food, culture etc. Then we created jokes that residents would genuinely recognize and chuckle at. We then layered our targeting, running two ad sets per region: one wide-open for pure reach, and one focused on specific interest-based audiences. Lesson 3: Authenticity wins. When your audience feels seen, they engage. Can you guess the cities for each of the creative examples? Comment what you think each is! #TargetedAdvertising #LocalMarketing #dotCA #CIRA #IYKYK #RIPConrad

Our funny URLs are great. Owning them is a strategy. For our "Find Your Canadian Identity" .CA campaign, we didn't just make puns. We registered every single .CA domain featured in the ads. Why? 1. Brand Protection: Preventing hijacking or reputational damage was non-negotiable. 2. Future-Proofing: This gives us a vault of "Easter Eggs" and the ability to build sophisticated, targeted landing pages experiences in the future. Each fun URL can become a direct path to a relevant offer or piece of content. Lesson 2: Great creative is the start. Smart infrastructure makes it scalable and safe. Do you have a domain strategy?
