The mental health field needs more people who care. 💛 For Kerry Haley, instructor in our Licensed Mental Health Technician program, this work became personal while advocating for her son and learning more about the mental health resources available to families. That experience eventually led her into a career focused on helping others access the support they deserve. As Mental Health Awareness Week comes to a close, we’re grateful for the people stepping into this field with empathy, compassion, and a desire to make a difference in the lives of others. Great teaching does not happen overnight. It is built through support, guidance, and consistency. In this episode of Tech Talk with WSU Tech, Strap Nkoba shares a story of how instructional support helped a faculty member transition from industry into the classroom with confidence. Through ongoing training, mentorship, and hands-on support, faculty are equipped to manage their classrooms, guide students, and deliver meaningful learning experiences. This is what it looks like to invest in both educators and student success. Higher education journeys are rarely walked alone. 💛 The early mornings. The pep talks after hard days. The rides to campus visits. The people who kept showing up, even when the future felt uncertain. This feels like such a beautiful reminder that behind so many student success stories are families, mentors, and support systems helping carry them forward every step of the way.
