Prescreening with Hiring Assistant enables job seekers to engage in convenient and streamlined early-stage conversations on their own time to quickly determine if an opportunity is relevant to their interests and qualifications. By surfacing key qualifications early and enabling jobseekers to ask questions along the way, it helps them make informed decisions while saving time.
Prescreening questions with Hiring Assistant
Last updated: 10 months agoHow does it work?
-
Initial contact: A recruiter may send you an InMail about a relevant job opportunity. If you’d like to learn more, you can accept the InMail to express your interest and find out important details about the job.
-
Prescreening: If the recruiter is using LinkedIn Hiring Assistant, they may have their Hiring Assistant ask if it can send you a few questions. You can choose to continue, or decline and wait for the recruiter to return your message. If you continue, you can choose to end the conversation with the Hiring Assistant at any time, and will be passed back to the recruiter to return your message.
-
Further interaction: After you answer the Hiring Assistant’s questions, you can also ask the Hiring Assistant any questions you have about the job. If the Hiring Assistant is unable to answer, it will relay your question back to the recruiter to continue the conversation.
-
Summary for recruiter: Your responses will be provided as a summary for the recruiter to review.
What recruiters receive after prescreening
Once you complete the prescreening, the recruiter will receive a summary of your responses and questions. The prescreening feature does not make any autonomous or automatic decisions based on your answers. The recruiter is responsible for reviewing and verifying all responses and AI-generated information before making any hiring decisions. Recruiters retain full control over evaluation based on the summary and can decide how to proceed with each candidate.
How you can submit feedback or additional information
At LinkedIn, we’re continuously working to improve the member experience. If you’d like to submit any feedback regarding your experience with the Hiring Assistant, please fill out the form.
After completing prescreening, you can contact the recruiter with additional information or feedback on the prescreening experience by replying to the message. It is up to the recruiter to decide whether to respond to your feedback or questions, or to otherwise follow up.
How this generative AI feature processes members’ data
Prescreening shares member profiles and inputs, such as responses to prescreening questions, with a generative AI model to facilitate the conversation and generate a summary. At this time, LinkedIn uses Microsoft's Azure OpenAI API service to power the feature. Member inputs are processed by LinkedIn using the Microsoft service, but are not accessed by Microsoft or OpenAI except by Microsoft in circumstances described here.
How is LinkedIn ensuring AI content won’t include any discriminatory, abusive, or biased content?
LinkedIn strives to ensure that its products and services are fair, including by measuring and mitigating algorithmic bias. Our objective is to ensure equally qualified members receive equal treatment by our models. As with all our products, our teams continuously assess our systems, and if biases are identified, we will work to address them.
What are LinkedIn’s Responsible AI Principles?
AI is not new to LinkedIn. LinkedIn has long used AI to enhance our members’ professional experiences. By leveraging the power of AI, we help our members connect, increase productivity, and achieve success in their careers.
Inspired by, and aligned with, Microsoft’s leadership in Responsible AI, LinkedIn applies Responsible AI Principles that we use to guide our work.
