Job Description

• Supports education and skills of the interdisciplinary team to advocate for and enhance atraumatic care and comfort techniques throughout the facility.
• Provides training and supervision for volunteers and maintain positive working relationships with them.
• Ensures accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions and interventions. Maintains an organized and clean work environment, including playroom, workspace, and storage areas.
• Other duties as assigned. Provides developmentally appropriate education for patients and their families related to medical procedures, diagnoses, pain management, grief, and bereavement.
• Uses play as a primary resource with patients and siblings to enhance coping, promote mastery and control, and encourage socialization.
