Director of Accounting

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and month-end close.
• Own and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Oversee audit preparation and coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other third-party partners.
• Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies.
• Serve as the internal NetSuite expert, including system administration, optimization, reporting, integrations, and process automation.
• Partner cross-functionally with Finance, FP&A, Operations, HR, and executive leadership to support strategic initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline accounting processes and improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.
• Manage and mentor accounting staff, fostering a high-performance and collaborative team environment.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory, tax, and reporting requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA strongly preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Extensive hands-on experience with NetSuite, including system administration, reporting, and optimization.
• Experience in a high-growth, multi-entity, or private equity-backed environment preferred.
• Strong understanding of internal controls, audit processes, and operational accounting.
• Proven ability to manage teams and build scalable accounting processes.
• Advanced Excel and financial systems proficiency.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with ERP implementations, migrations, or system integrations.
• Knowledge of revenue recognition, consolidations, and multi-entity accounting.
• Experience partnering with executive leadership and presenting financial results.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
