Overview

We are a fast-growing pet care company with top-selling products across retail and e-commerce. Our brands are category leaders online and in stores, and we are looking for an experienced CPG professional to help us build on an already impressive retail footprint and bring our products to even more pet parents and partners.


The Director of Business Development will identify, secure, and scale new business opportunities across retail. This role will lead outbound business development, shape channel expansion strategy, and build high-value partnerships that strengthen our market-leading position and accelerate the next phase of growth.


This role is based in our Fort Lauderdale corporate office.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategies that expand our already strong retail footprint and unlock new growth opportunities
  • Identify, prospect, and secure new retail accounts, distribution partners, and growth opportunities
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities
  • Lead outreach, presentations, negotiations, and commercial discussions with prospective partners
  • Partner with Marketing, Digital Commerce, Operations, and Supply Chain to support successful launches and onboarding
  • Analyze market trends, competitive activity, and whitespace opportunities to inform growth strategy
  • Develop sales forecasts, pipeline reporting, and performance metrics
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and partner meetings as needed


Qualifications

  • 7–10+ years of experience in CPG sales, business development, partnerships, or channel expansion
  • Proven success acquiring and growing retail accounts for leading CPG brands
  • Experience working with national retailers, distributors, and strategic channel partners
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills, with a hands-on, customer-facing approach
  • Comfortable owning customer relationships directly and representing the brand externally
  • Strategic, commercially driven, and analytically strong
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
  • Strong cross-functional leadership and collaboration skills
  • Pet industry experience is a plus, not a requirement


Location

This position is based in our Fort Lauderdale headquarters. In-office presence is important to support onboarding, cross-functional collaboration, strategic alignment, and long-term success.
