A leading acute care hospital in San Antonio is seeking an experienced Director of Emergency Services to oversee a high-performing Emergency Department within a large, fast-paced hospital environment.

Position Overview
The Director of Emergency Services will provide operational, clinical, and strategic leadership for the Emergency Department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care while overseeing staffing, budgeting, patient throughput, compliance, and departmental performance.
The Director will report directly to the Chief Nursing Officer and lead a strong existing leadership team.

Key Responsibilities
Lead daily operations of the Emergency Department
Drive quality improvement, patient safety, and operational efficiency initiatives
Oversee staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and productivity management
Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and hospital standards
Support patient throughput and interdisciplinary collaboration
Mentor and develop nursing leadership and frontline staff
Implement strategies to improve patient satisfaction and departmental performance
Partner with executive leadership and physicians to support service line growth
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree required
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required
Master’s Degree preferred
Minimum 1 year of leadership experience required
3+ years of applicable leadership experience preferred
Strong Emergency Department leadership background within an acute care hospital setting preferred
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary: $145,000 – $160,000 annually depending on experience
Incentive bonus: 17.5% – 26.25%
$20,000 sign-on bonus
$15,000 relocation assistance
Full-time leadership opportunity with day shifts and no weekends
