We are partnering with a high-growth, acquisition-driven organization to place a Director of HR Excellence — a high-impact operator who will own the execution quality of people systems across the business. This is a builder role at the center of integration, program implementation, and cross-functional connectivity.
This leader will drive consistency across acquired businesses, strengthen the relationship between field operations and HR, and serve as a trusted escalation partner when situations get complex. The role reports to the Vice President of Human Resources and works in close partnership with Operations, Talent, HRBPs, and M&A.
What You’ll Own
M&A Integration — People Experience Lead
• Lead and manage the people-side integration experience for newly acquired businesses.
• Collaborate with M&A, Operations, HR Business Partners, and Talent teams to execute structured onboarding and integration programs.
• Ensure timelines, communications, and tools are delivered effectively and in alignment with integration plans.
• Represent and advocate for the employee experience throughout all stages of organizational change.
Program Implementation and Special Projects
• Drive the execution of HR initiatives across systems, tools, and processes, including HRIS rollouts, benefits changes, compliance workflows, and manager enablement.
• Develop clear SOPs and best practices, ensuring strong adoption and continuous optimization in the field.
• Identify gaps and friction points, and improve the overall effectiveness and usability of HR programs.
Organizational Connectivity
• Build strong alignment between acquired businesses, local leadership, HR Business Partners, and central support teams.
• Ensure employees understand their HR support structure and how to effectively engage with it.
Field Presence and Feedback Loop
• Travel regularly to operational locations to support leaders, reinforce HR tools, and gather direct field feedback.
• Convert field insights into actionable improvements for the People function.
Escalation Support
• Provide leadership in complex and sensitive situations, including large-scale onboarding, employee relations issues, and leadership challenges.
HR Business Partner — Support Organization
• Serve as the HR Business Partner for an approximately 150-person support organization.
• Leverage this role to continuously enhance and scale People programs across the company.
What We’re Looking For
• 8–15+ years of experience in HR, People Operations, or People Program leadership roles.
• Experience working in multi-location, operationally intensive environments such as field operations, frontline workforces, or service-based businesses.
• Prior experience in M&A integration, organizational transformation, or scaling environments is strongly preferred.
• Strong execution-oriented mindset with the ability to bring structure to ambiguity and drive outcomes.
• Proven ability to build trust and act as a credible advisor to stakeholders at all levels.
• Willingness to travel regularly to stay closely connected to field operations.
