Our client is a global leader in industrial building solutions, headquartered in Germany and recognized as the largest provider in their space worldwide. They are launching their North American operations and are seeking a Director of Operations to stand up and lead all US operational functions. This role will report to the US GM in Memphis TN. This is a critical, high-impact role responsible for building processes, leading execution, and ensuring successful delivery across logistics, procurement, and installation. Will directly manage 1-2 employees plus all temporary labor for installations (will grow over time).

Core Responsibilities:

1. Warehouse & Logistics

• Establish and manage warehouse operations in Memphis
• Manage inventory flow:
• Order parts/components
• Sort and track inventory
• Assemble orders
• Coordinate shipping and delivery
• Facilitate ERP system transition

2. Procurement

• Develop and manage vendor relationships
• Oversee sourcing, purchasing, and inventory planning
• Ensure materials are available to meet project timelines

3. Installation

• Oversee installation operations for industrial structures
• Manage third-party installation partners initially
• Build and scale internal installation teams over time
• Travel to project sites to support builds and develop subject matter expertise
• Partner with global technical and PM resources

4. Process Development

• Build and refine operational workflows from the ground up
• Implement scalable systems and processes for US operations
• Collaborate with global teams leveraging existing infrastructure

Must Haves:

• 10+ years overall experience in operations, logistics, or supply chain (this could be starting as picker in warehouse and rising through ranks)
• Warehouse operations & inventory management experience
• Proven ability to execute without an established playbook and build/refine structure and process
• Ability to manage hurdles independently in fast paced settings
• Vendor management and procurement oversight
• ERP system experience (inventory, forecasting, reporting, etc)
• Warehouse operations & inventory management experience
• Strong organizational skills & Detail oriented
• Demonstrated tenure and stability (not a serial short-term hopper)
• Strong culture fit:
• Ability to work undepressed and with an even keel personality

Nice to Have:

• Six Sigma or LEAN training
• Project Management experience (client facing or internal)
• Installation or field operations exposure
• Experience scaling teams from outsourced to internal models
• Startup, expansion, or greenfield build experience
