Wedding Weekender is redefining wedding videography by helping couples capture their wedding weekends in an authentic, affordable way. We rent camcorders for family and friends to film the weekend—then our team organizes the footage and edits it into a wedding video that feels true and unique to each couple’s celebrations.
We’re a fast-growing, creative start-up building a scalable post-production team to deliver high-quality, on-brand wedding films at volume. Since our launch this year, we’ve been featured in the New York Times, Vogue Weddings, Martha Stewart Weddings, and more. We’re looking for a thoughtful, detail-oriented Director of Post-Production to lead our editing team, define our creative standards, and ensure every film feels personal, polished, and aligned with each couple’s vision.
Role Description
This is a full-time role (remote-friendly) for a Director of Post-Production. You’ll play a critical role in shaping the creative quality of all Wedding Weekender films, managing and building our editor team, and improving the systems that power our editing workflow.
You’ll work closely with the Founder and Customer Operations Coordinator to review footage, assign editors, provide structured creative feedback, and approve final edits—ensuring each couple receives a film that matches their preferences and reflects Wedding Weekender’s brand style.
Key Responsibilities
Creative Review & Direction
- Review incoming footage and couple preferences to determine editing style and editor assignment
- Provide clear creative briefs to editors based on couple preferences and brand standards
- Review edits, provide detailed feedback, and approve final films for delivery
- Ensure all films meet Wedding Weekender’s standards for pacing, storytelling, color, and tone
Editor Team Management
- Recruit, onboard, and manage freelance and full-time editors
- Develop editor performance standards, feedback systems, and quality benchmarks
- Mentor editors and help elevate storytelling quality across the team
Post-Production Process & Efficiency
- Build and continuously improve the end-to-end editing workflow
- Partner with operations to streamline footage organization, assignment, review cycles, and delivery
- Reduce revision cycles and turnaround time through better systems and creative guidance
Creative Systems & Documentation
- Create a standardized Editor Onboarding Kit, including:
- LUTs, presets, and color profiles
- Music inspiration
- Style references, pacing frameworks, and storytelling guidelines
- Project organization templates and delivery specs
Brand Stewardship
- Define and evolve Wedding Weekender’s visual and storytelling style
- Maintain consistency across films while allowing for couple personalization
- Collaborate with marketing and social teams on creative direction and brand assets as needed
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in video editing or post-production, with experience reviewing or leading other editors
- Experience in wedding videography or documentary-style storytelling strongly preferred
- Strong creative judgment and ability to give clear, constructive feedback
- Proficiency in Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, and Frame.io workflows
- Understanding of color grading, pacing, narrative structure, and music-driven editing
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-moving, startup environment
- Clear communicator who enjoys collaborating with editors and cross-functional teammates
Bonus:
- Experience building or managing post-production teams
- Experience creating LUTs, presets, or post-production templates
- Background in agency, production company, or creative studio environments
- Familiarity with wedding or lifestyle content trends
Compensation
- Competitive salary based on experience (estimated range: $90,000–$120,000 for full-time U.S.-based candidates)
