The company’s name honors the 100+ year legacy of Violet Packing, the original producer behind these iconic labels. In early 2026, Violet Foods expanded its platform with the acquisition of Muir Glen®, the leading organic canned tomato brand in the United States, further strengthening its position across both conventional and organic categories.


Today, Violet Foods operates a diversified portfolio spanning legacy regional brands and category-leading organic offerings, with distribution across retail, natural, private label, and foodservice channels, supported by a scalable manufacturing and supply chain footprint positioned for continued growth and optimization.


Role Overview:

The Director of Sales – Food Service will serve as a critical member of the leadership team, responsible for driving revenue, profitability, and market expansion across the Food Service channel. This individual will own the development and execution of the sales strategy, build high-impact customer relationships, and lead the broker and distributor network to deliver strong, sustainable growth. Acting as both a strategic and hands-on leader, the Director will ensure that sales targets are met or exceeded while aligning with company goals. This role requires a high-performing, analytical, and relationship-driven professional with deep experience in the Food Service sector.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute the roadmap to grow the Food Service business.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales and customer development strategy aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Marketing, and Manufacturing teams to drive profitable outcomes.
  • Drive year-over-year sales growth and margin improvement across all Food Service accounts.
  • Develop annual sales forecasts, budgets, and strategic account plans.
  • Lead quarterly and annual business reviews with key customers and stakeholders.
  • Source, evaluate, and manage a network of top-performing brokers and distributors.
  • Negotiate and oversee contracts, commission structures, and performance metrics.
  • Ensure partners are aligned with brand strategy and equipped with the tools to succeed.
  • Design and execute custom promotional and merchandising programs to drive demand.
  • Leverage insights and trends to inform innovation and market penetration.
  • Analyze sales performance using retailer data to inform strategy.
  • Monitor trends and competitive activity to identify new opportunities for growth.
  • Deliver actionable reporting and recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Educate brokers, distributors, and internal teams on product features and market strategy.
  • Represent the company at key industry events and food service trade shows to build brand visibility.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales Management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years in a senior sales leadership role within the CPG/Food Service industry.
  • Proven success in developing and managing broker/distributor networks.
  • Strong existing relationships in the Food Service sector in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.
  • Demonstrated success in launching new products and building demand in new markets.
  • Skilled in strategic planning, performance tracking, and cross-functional leadership.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including regular trips across territories and to trade shows.
