Kalmar is looking for an East Coast Regional Sales Manager, Counterbalance, to focus on meeting domestic sales objectives for the assigned region. Reporting to the Sales Manager II, Counterbalance, you will work through Kalmar Dealer networks and assigned direct accounts to promote and capture sales within the region. In this role, you will serve as a vital liaison between the dealer and the Kalmar Sales/Service network.
Compensation Data
Base Salary: $115k - $150k per year
Eligible for Quarterly Sales/Performance Incentive
Annual salary review & merit-based increases
What Are Your Key Responsibilities
Sales Target Achievement: Achieve sales volume objectives for the assigned region and establish sales goals for dealers while communicating with the dealer operations team.
Dealer Network Management: Conduct product training for the dealer sales organization to ensure competency, and provide on-going input to dealer performance evaluations and dealership action plans.
Direct Account Leadership: Take responsibility for fleet sales to direct accounts and maintain an analysis of customer needs and product requirements to satisfy customer wants by segment.
Market Analysis & Forecasting: Maintain market information on competitive product content and pricing, manage sales discounts within guidelines, and provide input for forecasts on sales and industry volume.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Engineering, Parts, Product Support, and Dealer Development to maximize performance in all areas, and assure that proper inventory and demonstrators are available.

What You Bring To The Role
Qualifications: A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Sales, Marketing Business Management, Engineering or related field; we will also consider a combination of Sales/Marketing experience and education in lieu of a BS degree.
Experience: A minimum of five (5) years' experience in heavy industrial equipment sales and support, alongside a broad understanding and experience in the dealer retail business.
Technical Expertise: A technical aptitude for heavy equipment; knowledge of engineering is considered a plus.
Communication & Negotiation: Superior communication and negotiating skills with the ability to communicate with individuals and groups including principle owners, dealer representatives, end-users, and technical personnel.
Leadership & Problem Solving: A "Can Do" attitude with a sense of urgency to create change. You must be able to face and address difficult issues and personalities, and building credibility with the dealer organization is critical to success.
Availability: Must be capable and willing to travel and represent a large region, requiring travel 2 to 3 weeks per month / 3-4 days per week.
