Position Summary
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer with strong electrical design experience to support multiple custom automation projects simultaneously. This role is hands-on and project driven, requiring close coordination with controls engineers, mechanical designers, project managers, and customers. The ideal candidate is comfortable owning electrical designs from initial concept through build, integration, and startup support.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop electrical control systems for custom automation equipment
Create and maintain electrical schematics, panel layouts, and wiring documentation using AutoCAD Electrical or SolidWorks Electrical
Select electrical components including power distribution, motor controls, safety devices, and instrumentation
Support multiple active projects at the same time while meeting schedules and budget expectations
Collaborate with PLC and HMI engineers to support system integration, troubleshooting, and commissioning
Provide technical support during panel build, factory acceptance testing, site installation, and startup
Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards such as NFPA, UL, and customer specifications
Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering standards and practices
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
Strong electrical design experience using AutoCAD Electrical or SolidWorks Electrical
Multiple years of experience executing several engineering projects concurrently
Prior experience supporting PLC and HMI integrations in an industrial automation environment
Solid understanding of industrial control systems, power distribution, and control panel design
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with custom automation or OEM equipment design
Familiarity with industrial networking and field devices
Exposure to machine safety standards and safety circuit design
Experience supporting equipment through commissioning and startup
