Role Description

We're seeking an experienced, energetic journalist to join our team as a Refining Reporter. You'll cover the downstream sector — focusing on refineries, margins, throughput, capacity expansions, maintenance/turnarounds, regulatory developments, and biofuels integration. This is a beat that requires strong sourcing, fast-breaking news skills, and the ability to turn complex technical and economic information into clear, compelling stories.


Qualifications

  • Strong skills in Reporting, News Writing, and general Writing to deliver high-quality and detailed stories
  • Excellent Communication skills for conducting interviews and engaging with industry professionals
  • A deep understanding of the energy industry and related government policies
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment and meet deadlines
  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field preferred but not required
  • Previous experience in energy or business journalism is a plus
