Burke is seeking a Family Partner to join our Youth Crisis Outreach Team (YCOT) in Lufkin, TX. This role is designed to support primary caregivers of children and adolescents receiving mental health services by providing peer mentoring, advocacy, and engagement support based on lived experience.
The Family Partner plays a critical role in strengthening family involvement in the treatment process, promoting self-advocacy, and connecting families to both formal and informal community resources. This is a non-clinical, peer-support position that requires authenticity, professionalism, and a commitment to empowering families during challenging times.
Key Responsibilities
Provide peer mentoring and guidance to primary caregivers
Encourage and support active family participation in treatment
Model self-advocacy skills and empowerment strategies
Provide information, referrals, and non-clinical skills training
Identify natural, non-traditional, and community-based supports
Support ongoing family engagement in services
Document all services provided (in-person and remote) in a timely and accurate manner
Education
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
Experience
Must be a parent or primary caregiver of a child or adolescent who has successfully received at least one (1) year of treatment for a mental health diagnosis and/or participated in Special Education services.
Licensure/Certification
Valid Texas driver's license
Ability to attend required training and pass testing to become a Certified Family Partner (must obtain certification within the first year of employment)
Special Requirements
Must be willing to share personal lived experience as a recipient of mental health services in a professional and supportive manner
Reliable personal vehicle
Driving record insurable by Burke's insurance administrator
Ability to complete SAMA (Satori Alternative to Managing Aggressive Behavior), CPR, and First Aid training
Physical Requirements

Lift up to 25 pounds
Walking and driving
Hand and finger dexterity
