Summary

Directs, coordinates, initiates, plans, and schedules engineering functions for field construction activities. Typically, the scope of activities is limited to one aspect of a complex and/or major construction project. May serve as the Lead for projects limited in scope and size.
Responsibilities
- As appropriate to the scope and size of a project, will typically have the following duties and responsibilities while reporting to the Senior Management team.
- Review and interpret project specifications and drawings as it relates to Requests for Information (RFI), Field Work Orders (FWO), and Non-conformance Report (NCR).
- Responsible for preparing engineering, production, and appropriate business reports as required by the project and the company.
- Responsible for dealing with vendors providing equipment and materials for a project and the verification of purchased equipment and materials to plans and specifications.
- May direct and supervise other field engineers, inspectors, and surveyors.
- Will be responsible for interface with design engineering organization .
- Review, approve, and coordinate issuance of DCN, FDCN, RFI, NCR and FWO related to module assembly .
- Facilitate communication between Contractor and Engineering on technical matters related to module assembly.
- Coordinate the System Turnover and Reporting (STAR) process; Perform required field engineering design; walk down all systems and develop red-lined drawings; design support/resolution in coordination with HQ engineers as required.
- Assure engineering practices, codes, and standards are compliant with Federal, State and Local, as well as site-specific requirements; Ensure periodic inspection of all subcontractors’ field documents for regular maintenance of as-built records by subcontractors.
- Dispositions Identify field changes, propose design engineering changes, and coordinating with Shaw Project Managers and Client Engineering of Record.
- Has in-depth experience, knowledge, and skills in own discipline.
- Works independently with minimal guidance. Usually determines own work priorities.
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May stabilize at this level for many years.
- Interprets customer needs, assesses requirements, and identifies solutions to non-standard requests. Uses best practices and knowledge of internal/external business issues to improve products or services in own discipline. Monitors and controls costs within own work.
- Has expertise in own discipline. Applies knowledge and skills to a wide range of standard and nonstandard situations.
- Solves moderately complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions.
- Manages own time to meet agreed targets; develops plans for short-term work activities in own area.
- Explains difficult issues and works to establish consensus.
- Promotes teamwork, coaches, and guides others.
- Typically has 5+years’relevantexperience.
- Smart Plant Review, or other 3D model viewers is a plus
- AutoCAD is a plus
- Ability to reach, stand, walk, finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see and to perform repetitive motions.
- Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift , carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
- Ability to reach with hands or arms, stand, walk, use hands or fingers, grip, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl and to perform repetitive motions.
- Ability to sit at a desk and operate computer for extended periods of time.
- The ability to lift and carry 15 lbs. on a regular basis is required and at times lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required .
