Fundraising Manager, Greater Los Angeles and Central Coast
Remote: Must reside in Greater Los Angeles
Position Overview
Be a part of a mission-driven nonprofit committed to saving lives and bringing hope to those affected by suicide. As Fundraising Manager, you will lead and inspire all fundraising efforts within your territory, driving significant revenue growth while building and empowering a strong volunteer network. This role is also responsible for the recruitment, training, and management of event committees, ensuring successful execution and continued community engagement.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the Executive Director and Development team to drive year-over-year revenue growth for all fundraising events
- Set and achieve ambitious, attainable fundraising goals for each event in collaboration with leadership
- Plan, manage, and execute signature fundraising events within the assigned market to meet or exceed revenue targets
- Increase sponsorship revenue and event registration year over year through innovative peer-to-peer strategies
- Train and support participants, team captains, and volunteers in effective fundraising techniques
- Cultivate, steward, and recognize relationships with top fundraisers, team captains, sponsors, and key volunteers
- Recruit, train, and lead event chairs, committee members, and day-of-event volunteers
- Lead event committees and meetings using national tools, manuals, and best practices
- Manage event logistics, including vendors, venues, and municipal partners
- Develop and manage event budgets, monitoring expenses to stay within approved limits
- Collaborate with the Development team on individual, corporate, and foundation giving efforts
- Demonstrate fundraising impact by communicating how funds support community programs, education, advocacy, and research
- Maintain strong knowledge of assigned markets and service areas
- Design and implement volunteer and sponsor recognition programs
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 4+ years in nonprofit special event fundraising, with proven revenue growth through P2P events
- Experience managing multiple walk/fundraising committees (2–3 members each)
- Demonstrated success securing monetary sponsorships
- Experience with national organizations with chapter/affiliate systems preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Technology literate with ability to leverage social media for marketing
- Experience with DonorDrive and Virtuous preferred
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects under pressure
- Ability to prioritize, coach, and hold volunteers accountable to reach revenue goals
- Diplomatic with strong problem-solving skills; able to handle conflict tactfully
- Capable of presenting to small and large groups, in person or virtually
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Comfortable interacting with donors, volunteers, staff, community partners, and the public
- Full-time remote position with regular attendance at meetings
- Ability to travel moderately for meetings, conferences, and events
- Flexibility to work after hours and on weekends as needed
- Able to handle emotionally sensitive situations with grieving or crisis-affected individuals
- Fast-paced, dynamic work environment with interaction across multiple stakeholders
- Frequently required to sit, stand, talk, hear, walk, and use hands
- Occasionally lift/move up to 30 lbs for events
- Must have close vision and ability to adjust focus

Compensation
- Salary: $60,000 - $75,000
- 22 PTO (vacation, sick, wellness and personal days) your first year of employment (5 additional days 2nd year)
- 10% employer retirement contribution after 2 years of employment
- Flexible Summer Fridays
- 11 Holidays
