We’re working on a confidential and EXCLUSIVE search for a General Manager of Sales to lead and grow a well-established Kansas City business that is gaining momentum and investing in the right areas. This is not a plug-and-play environment. It’s a place where your decisions matter, your leadership is visible, and your impact shows up quickly.


If you’ve done your best work inside smaller or mid-sized companies where you had to think, adapt, and lead without a large support team behind you, you’ll understand this opportunity right away.


Industries that our client would like to see people from are commercial construction, construction products, industrial and distribution sales, industrial/commercial HVAC & mechanical systems, logistics and supply chain services, to name a few.


What you’ll step into

  • Lead a team of 2–5 direct reports with 30+ indirect team members
  • Own sales performance across multiple channels and customer types
  • Bring structure and consistency to how the team sells, forecasts, and executes
  • Coach and develop frontline leaders and sales managers
  • Partner closely with ownership on strategy, growth planning, and execution
  • Identify gaps in the current sales approach and fix what needs fixing
  • Stay close enough to the business to know what’s really happening

  • A proven sales leader who has led both direct and layered teams
  • Experience in environments where sales cycles involve coordination, timelines, and multiple stakeholders
  • Background in smaller to mid-sized companies where you didn’t have layers of support
  • Someone who builds teams and develops people, not just manages numbers
  • Strong operational mindset with the ability to drive accountability
  • A track record of staying and building, not bouncing every couple of years

Compensation & Perks

  • Base: $125,000 – $150,000 (Depending on experience)
  • Bonus: VERY Aggressive and tied to performance
  • Company car, gas card, and full maintenance
  • Long-term upside tied directly to growth
