COVE Animal Health is seeking a visionary, collaborative veterinary leader to serve as Group President for our Massachusetts and Rhode Island region. This executive leadership role provides medical, operational, and cultural oversight across a growing network of specialty, emergency, urgent care, and primary care hospitals throughout the region. The position combines strategic business leadership with a deep commitment to clinical excellence, team development, and hospital growth.
As part of the senior leadership team, the Group President partners closely with Operations, Medical Directors, Hospital Leadership, and executive leadership to support high-quality medicine, strong financial performance, collaborative culture, and continued regional expansion.

What You’ll Do
Medical & Clinical Leadership
Maintain an active clinical presence within regional hospitals by regularly working alongside doctors and clinical teams.
Clinical involvement will vary based on hospital needs, staffing demands, and organizational priorities.
Champion a medicine-first, doctor-led culture across the region
Lead and mentor Medical Directors and veterinary leadership teams
Ensure hospitals maintain exceptional standards of patient care, safety, ethics, and compliance
Drive clinical quality improvement initiatives and best practice standardization
Oversee internship, residency, mentorship, and doctor development programs
Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention of veterinarians and medical leaders
Lead through a visible, boots-on-the-ground leadership philosophy that prioritizes connection to frontline teams, and hospital workflows.
Operational & Strategic Leadership
Partner in dyad leadership with Operations to support hospital performance, staffing, growth, and resource management
Be comfortable maintaining an active clinical role within our anchor emergency hospitals while balancing executive leadership responsibilities
Develop and execute regional growth initiatives and hospital strategy
Lead operational and cultural integration efforts for acquisitions and de novo hospitals
Review hospital metrics and operational performance to identify opportunities for improvement and growth
Partner on facility planning, equipment investments, and operational infrastructure needs
Ensure hospitals maintain OSHA and regulatory compliance standards
Guide workforce planning and scheduling strategies across hospitals
Culture, Collaboration & Team Development
Foster a highly collaborative and supportive regional culture
Build strong relationships with doctors, technicians, hospital leaders, and support teams
Promote continuous learning, mentorship, and leadership development
Lead technical training and leadership development initiatives for hospital teams
Maintain a strong presence within hospitals to build trust, engagement, and alignment
Represent the region externally through professional associations, partnerships, and community engagement
What We’re Looking For
DVM or VMD required
Emergency and/or urgent care experience strongly preferred
Proven ability to lead collaborative teams and support organizational growth
Passion for mentorship, culture-building, and people development
Excellent communication, relationship-building, and leadership abilities
Commitment to high-quality medicine and exceptional patient care
