Key Account Manager
VirtuaLens is seeking an experienced Account Manager to drive growth within our largest and most strategic ophthalmology practice accounts. This role is designed for someone who understands the complexities of premium cataract and refractive surgery practices, and can confidently educate, influence, and partner with key decision-makers to maximize adoption of the VirtuaLens Immersive IOL Simulator—transforming how practices educate patients and drive premium lens conversions.
You will own high-value practice relationships, lead strategic conversations around VirtuaLens platform integration, and serve as a trusted advisor to practice leadership—connecting VirtuaLens' revolutionary patient education technology directly to measurable increases in premium IOL adoption, practice revenue, and patient satisfaction.
Account Leadership & Growth
- Manage and expand relationships with strategic, high-revenue ophthalmology practices
- Identify and close expansion opportunities within existing accounts
- Develop tailored growth strategies aligned with each practice's clinical and business objectives
Premium IOL Education & VirtuaLens Platform Integration
- Drive practice adoption of the VirtuaLens Immersive IOL Simulator as a clinical and financial game-changer for premium lens conversions
- Train surgeons, clinical staff, and patient educators on leveraging VirtuaLens' immersive 3D scenarios (golf courses, nighttime driving, reading, sports) to help patients visualize their vision outcomes and confidently choose premium lenses
- Integrate VirtuaLens into pre-op consultation workflows to increase premium IOL selection rates and patient satisfaction
- Present data and case studies demonstrating how practices achieve higher premiumization rates and increased revenue per cataract case using VirtuaLens
- Lead benchmarking workshops showing how VirtuaLens transforms patient education from static 2D images to scenario-based decision-making
- Partner with practice administrators and finance teams to model ROI on premium IOL adoption enabled by VirtuaLens
VirtuaLens Platform Deployment & Optimization
- Assess current patient education processes and IOL counseling workflows to identify VirtuaLens integration opportunities
- Support practices in measuring KPIs: premium IOL conversion rates, revenue per case, and post-op complaint reduction
- Work with VirtuaLens team to recommend patient-facing materials and communication strategies that position VirtuaLens as a premium patient benefit
- Share anonymized benchmarking data comparing practices' premium IOL adoption rates to model practices
Experience
- 5+ years of operations/management experience in ophthalmology practices (cataract, refractive surgery, and/or premium IOL)
- Proven track record as a practice administrator, clinical director, or account executive in a specialty surgical setting
- Deep understanding of premium IOL challenges, including patient education, practice workflow, and reimbursement considerations
- Experience managing relationships and driving decisions across multiple stakeholders in surgical settings

- Clinical & Technology Fluency: Deep understanding of IOL options and how VirtuaLens' immersive 3D education transforms patient decision-making
- Consultative Selling: Diagnose practice workflow gaps and present VirtuaLens as a strategic solution, not just software
- Executive Presence: Credibly present clinical value and financial ROI to surgeons, practice owners, and C-suite
- Relationship Building: Build trust with influential practice decision-makers
- Data-Driven Storytelling: Translate VirtuaLens platform data and benchmarking metrics into compelling narratives
- Educational Mindset: Train practice teams on VirtuaLens workflows and simplify complex VR technology into actionable processes
- Strategic Thinking: Map VirtuaLens adoption to practice goals (increased premium IOL adoption, higher patient satisfaction, improved efficiency)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience implementing healthcare technology platforms into surgical practices
- Familiarity with premium IOL brands (Alcon, Bausch + Lomb, Johnson & Johnson, Carl Zeiss)
- Background in ophthalmology practice operations or clinical leadership
- Knowledge of practice management systems and EMRs used in cataract/refractive surgery
- Experience with SaaS adoption in medical practices
- Familiarity with VR or immersive technologies in clinical settings preferred
- Primary location: Remote (USA); Florida and Texas preferred
- Travel: ~50% — Will vary up or down based on growth and future needs (quarterly practice visits, conference attendance, strategic account meetings)
