Job Scope:
Responsible for engraving / etching words, designs, or patterns on various surfaces by method of a Pantograph Engraver or Vision Max rotary engraver.
Key Responsibilities:
Engrave parts for cameras, lenses, accessories and cases per blueprint
Create fixture templates for new/old parts from design prints
Maintain accurate records and manage workflow to ensure schedules are met
Maintain a neat and organized workstation as per health and safety standards
Pantograph Engraving - Sets up and operates a pantograph machine to engrave designs or text onto workpieces like nameplates, lenses by guiding a stylus over a pattern to have a cutting tool reproduce it. The job involves securing the workpiece and pattern, adjusting machine settings for size and depth, operating the machine while monitoring the cut, and performing quality checks for accuracy and clean finish. A pantograph engraver also performs necessary maintenance like sharpening cutting tools and cleaning the finished product.
Vision Max Engraving – Set up and operate the Vision MAX engraver for both flat and cylindrical items. This includes mounting and clamping workpieces, installing correct cutting tools (bits/cutters), and setting machine parameters like depth, speed, and positioning. Use computer software, such as Vision Pro, Corel Draw, or other compatible CAD software, to design or prepare layouts for engraving. This involves interpreting customer specifications, blueprints, or instructions to determine operational methods and ensuring design accuracy. Work with various materials (e.g., plastic, brass, aluminum, glass, crystal) and select appropriate material settings and tools for each job. Inspect finished products for quality, ensuring depth, uniformity, and adherence to specifications using precision measurement devices like calipers or gauges. Rework items as needed.
Skills/Experience Required:
Self-motivated, enthusiastic and able to work on own initiative
Extensive knowledge of engraving machine operations; pantograph and laser etcher
Extensive knowledge of engraving, cutter grinding, part layout, template making, and machine set-up
Ability to read blueprints and sketches
Knowledge of the effects engraving has on various materials
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
Standard work week (Monday thru Friday); working 8-10 hours per day.
Ability to remain flexible towards changes in scheduled job duties.

Compensation:
$22.00 to $25.00 per hour
