As I Am is looking for a creative, curious, trend-aware Marketing Intern to join our team. We’re a textured haircare brand built for people who love their curls, coils, waves, and protective styles — and we’re looking for someone who understands culture, community, content, and the little details that make a brand feel alive.
This is a great opportunity for someone who lives on TikTok, notices what brands are doing well on Instagram, has strong opinions about what makes content feel authentic, and wants hands-on experience in beauty, retail, influencer marketing, social media, and brand strategy.
What You’ll Do
As our Marketing Intern, you’ll help support the As I Am marketing team across social media, content, influencer outreach, retail marketing, and brand campaigns.
You may help with:
Spotting TikTok, Instagram, and beauty trends before they feel overdone
Brainstorming content ideas for product launches, campaigns, and everyday social posts
Helping organize influencer lists, creator outreach, gifting, and campaign tracking
Supporting retail marketing projects for partners like Walmart, Target, Sally Beauty, CVS, and more
Researching what other beauty, haircare, skincare, and lifestyle brands are doing
Assisting with photoshoots, content planning, and product seeding
Writing captions, content prompts, email ideas, or short-form video concepts
Helping track campaign performance and turn insights into ideas
Bringing a fresh Gen Z perspective to brand conversations
Who You Are
You don’t need 10 internships or a perfectly polished résumé. We’re looking for someone who is thoughtful, reliable, creative, and excited to learn.
You might be a great fit if you:
Are passionate about beauty, textured hair, culture, social media, and storytelling
Understand TikTok, Instagram, creators, memes, trends, and internet language
Can tell the difference between content that feels real and content that feels forced
Are organized enough to manage details, deadlines, lists, and follow-ups
Enjoy researching brands, creators, trends, and consumer behavior
Are a strong communicator and not afraid to share ideas
Can balance creativity with professionalism
Are curious about how a real beauty brand grows across social, retail, ecommerce, and community
Bonus Points
Not required, but definitely nice to have:
Experience creating content for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, or Pinterest
Interest in curly/coily/textured haircare
Familiarity with Canva, CapCut, Google Sheets, or basic analytics
Experience with campus orgs, social media pages, beauty clubs, content creation, or brand ambassador programs
A good eye for aesthetics, copy, packaging, or what makes people stop scrolling
