BioCircuit Technologies is a medical device company developing and commercializing novel devices for the surgical repair of nerves and other soft tissues.
Position Overview
The Medical Affairs Manager will advance BioCircuit Technologies' mission to deliver next-generation devices for repair of nerves and other tissues. The person in this role will act as a scientific expert, contributing to clinical education, product outreach, publication planning, and supporting our relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Scientific Engagement & Education
- Travel 1 to 4 times per month to surgeon society meetings, scientific conferences, journal clubs, educational workshops, and similar events to represent BioCircuit Technologies and support product adoption.
- Develop and deliver educational and training materials for internal staff, distributor partners, and surgeon customers, focusing on advanced nerve repair techniques and device applications involving Nerve Tape® and other company products.
- Facilitate hands-on product training content, webinars, and workshops, empowering clinicians with knowledge on sutureless nerve repair solutions.
- Peer-to-peer professional discussions of appropriate applications of the product.
Scientific Communications & Publications
- Contribute to medical writing, including preparation and editing of journal publications, white papers, abstracts, clinical protocols, and scientific presentations regarding nerve and tissue repair devices.
- Support the creation and review of scientific marketing materials, translating complex clinical outcomes and product data for varying audiences, including surgeons, healthcare administrators, and sales teams.
- Interface with cross-functional teams in the collection and dissemination of published clinical data demonstrating product efficacy and safety.
Customer & KOL Engagement
- Establish and nurture relationships with current and potential surgeon customers via phone/video calls, in-person site visits, and advisory boards, promoting BioCircuit’s portfolio of nerve repair products.
- Engage actively with Key Opinion Leaders in nerve surgery to support clinical collaborations, investigator-initiated studies, and strategic partnerships.
- Serve as a trusted resource for clinicians during case consultations and product evaluations.
- Help to coordinate the Company’s various levels of interaction with KOLs and other healthcare professionals, supporting a unified professional and targeted approach from the broader organization.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with product development, marketing, regulatory, and sales to ensure clinical accuracy, regulatory compliance, and alignment of scientific messaging supporting product launches and adoption.
- Assist with clinical testing support, contributing input on device usage, patient outcomes, and protocol development involving nerve repair indications.
- Provide actionable medical insights to shape internal strategy and build BioCircuit’s leadership in nerve repair innovations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced degree in life sciences, biomedical engineering, medicine, or related field (MD, PhD, or equivalent preferred).
- 2+ years experience in medical affairs, clinical research or clinical education within the medical device industry, ideally with soft tissue or nerve repair focus.
- Demonstrated expertise in medical writing, scientific material development, and surgeon engagement.
- Excellent oral and written communication, with the ability to translate complex scientific concepts for diverse audiences.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently (approximately 25–40%).
- Deep understanding of surgical workflows in peripheral nerve repair, microsurgery, or related specialties is highly desirable.
Skills and Attributes
- Strong understanding of scientific/clinical research and ability to learn and disseminate published data supporting Nerve Tape and other products
- Proactive and assertive engagement of current and potential surgeon customers
- Ability to interface with surgeons at scientific and social programming events
- Ability to organize, manage, and prioritize multiple scientific projects in a fast-paced setting
- Enthusiastic collaborator committed to advancing BioCircuit’s mission to improve patient care through precision-made devices
- Writing, statistical, and clinical contribution to research publications
